I applied using old rules despite I was 15 days short. Anybody here that has done the same and their case has gone further than the "in process" status?

Well, I did my test today at the scarborough location. Honestly, I didnt even check my ecas since submitting my application in June. I just recieved the letter couple weeks ago in the mail to write the test. I didnt expected it this soon.

Took about 5 minutes to do the test, then straight to the interview. They just want to see that you can have a conversation in english. Checked my documents and said the oath will be approx 2-4 months.

Faster you do the test, the faster you will get out, as theres only a couple ppl conducting interviews and you have to sit and wait till the people before you are done.

Good luck everyone!!! Im excited!

They needed to see all your passports (including the expired ones). They look at some of your stamps from when you left the country or not and compre if your declaration of yoir travels are true.
Landing papers/confirmation of your PR
Drivers lisence, Health Card and my PR Card.
The test invitation letter.

Interview was nothing specific. Like, what do you do in canada, where do you work, whats work like...
They just wanna see you can hold a conversation in english and not be answering in one word sentences.

Just checked eCas and have my 2nd test date scheduled (I had to miss the first due to vacation)... all set for November 18th (Vancouver)! :D

For those still waiting on a 2nd test who couldn't make their first, it was exactly two months between the first notice being sent (Aug 27) and the rescheduled notice being sent (Oct 27).

Its difficult to predict how CIC officials handle every case, especially with the change in Federal Government, Previous government was'nt flexible at all, thousands were made to wait for years and then got rejected on small issues. Hopefully, new government be more helpful.

I was 2 months short due to my attorney's miscalculation. After making me slog for 4 years, 4 months back Citizenship Judge asked me to withdraw my case and re-apply. She was'nt even prepared to see tons of proof, supporting my strong ties to the country.

Yet, couple of days back I read on this forum, an applicant had similar situation but the CJ granted approval. So, its all depends.

If you can afford, hire reputed attorney to accompany you for CJ hearing, it would very helpful. When an applicant accompany with attorneys for hearing, the CJ cannot take you for ride.

Good luck everyone and thanks for your advicesthey really helped.

Hi All,

Thanks everyone who is maintaining the spreadsheet. One small suggestion I think would be useful to add the states "Decision Made" and "Test to Decision Made". Can someone make these changes.

Thanks
