have you heard about the new portal?
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/pr-confirmation-portal.html

I think the old way took too long, around 4.5 months
The online confirmation portal is by invitation only. Some applicants on the brink of approval get an invitation email followed by the credentials. If you get the CoPR directly (or get a phone call for 'landing'), you're stuck with the old way of mailing the photos and hoping for the best.

From what I observe on this forum, those who get invited are the lucky ones. Even a reasonably professional self-taken picture can be accepted. Card gets mailed out within days. Not sure why they aren't actively pushing people to use this system.

Mine was delivered on November 9th, it was approved and mailed out on December 2nd. I haven't received it though.
Similar timeline here. Mine was approved and mailed out December 1st. Submitted at Hornby office in Vancouver. Still waiting for the physical card in the mail.

From your signature it seems the wait for PR card is even longer than the PR application itself! Which office did you send photos to?
For the fast PR yes. For the ones in QC, the whole process goes beyond the 2 years (I started the federal process in September 2018 and haven't finished yet..)

that is what I mean, PRs with recent COPRs, not the ones from summer for example
I assumed what you say, but my question I got my COPR yesterday and I didn't get my online portal access yet.

Thanks for the explanation, I just did an online portal request on Webform. So, let's wait and see.

Hi,

I received "the email" from IRCC, saying congratulations, you are a permanent resident, asking to send photos etc.
This document can be used as an official document until you have a pr card.

But I have also seen some other COPR document with the title "Confirmation of Permanent Residency" on the forums. This document contains more personal information about the applicant than the letter I received.

So, is this an old form of COPR document or issued only to outland applicants, or I will get it too?

Thanks for your response in advance.
