Nothing will happen, If u lost it, you can apply again. Your COPR will be valid till 1 year after arrival. You already became a permanent resident.

But I am not in Canada right now...and how am I going to re-apply out of the country ...

You can enter Canada by using Permanent Resident Travel Document(PRTD). You can get it online.
In the same thread, few people said they got their card after 10 days after the approval. You can check that. So wait, it is on the way..

In my case, I have not received my card even after almost 2 weeks were gone since it was approved. I had to go check to my old addresses if my card was delivered there. Then I end up figuring out that my card was delivered to my immigration consultant address and they just sent it out to me through express mail. Do not freak out and you will be okay. Just try to contact to your agency (if you hired one) or to your old addresses. Also, although it went missing somewhere you can simply submit the request form (forgot how it’s called) and fax it to CIC and they will arrange to remail your PR card within 3 weeks frame.

Hello everyone,
I completed my landing last week. For the first PR card, do I need to submit an application or does it happen automatically? I assumed the latter but feeling a bit confused after reading posts here. How do you then track issuing of the card? Thank you for your insight!!!

It’s done automatically by the CBSA officer at airport so no need to submit anything
You can link your PR card to the CIC application and keep track of it
