Hi all....can you please tell me if the primary applicant and dependent receive their PR cards together in one mail or separately? I ( Primary applicant) received my PR cards two days back but haven’t received my husband’s PR card. I am really worried as he did soft landing and went back to my home country because of prior commitments...n if PR cards do come separately how long I should wait for mail before contacting CIC

Of course, PR Card comes in a mail separately. This is most of the time happen when primary application receive his/her PR card but dependent doesn't. If you have changed your address then try to contact or search on previous address. Sometime they updated new address on primary applicant but they don't change address for dependent. You can also call CIC same time so see if his photo got rejected or not. If application was approved and which address they have on file for your husband's PR Card. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Krunal

Thought of sharing the following tidbits of wisdom gleaned from Passport Canada (IRCC office) photo studio in Scarborough (we visited this place as a result of photo requests for our kids)-

a. DON'T wear white shirts or dresses, particularly covering the shoulders- made my younger kid put on a sweater for his picture to be taken.
b. Ensure that the photograph they take sits within the circle- these guys here had some software that prints the picture inside this 'reference guide for photographers'
c. There is a particular way in mailing these photos which they have requested. 1. Ensure to send the original photo request letter they sent through. 2. Put the 'reference guide' letter which has your photograph printed as per the specifications (Point #2) 3. Get a photocopy of the mailing receipt and place one inside the envelope(s)- there have been multiple cases reported where IRCC states it wasn't in the timeline of 30 days. 4. Send the required photographs,as appropriate.

Hope this helps.

Is it important to link your application online??
Not necessary but is a good idea to do so as we can get the application specific updates via MY CIC. Not all application can be linked as IRCC has a weird way of searching for the applications before they could be linked which doesnt always work. Anyhow, if you are able to, it is advisable to link it.
