Well just received the worst news that i didn't want to get....
Just got asked for new photos! I think it was because i forgot to write my name and date of birth on the back on the card
I'm so mixed emotions right now as i had travel booked and now i gotta go through the stress of changing everything.

So my question is.... if i sent in the new photos today express to them how long on average do they get to them and then process the card.
Can people who have been through this process please give me your time lines? I know there's a few people on here.

It's not because you forgot to write your details on back of photo. They returned me the photo with my details on it along with the client copy of CoPR. The reasons for photo rejection are unclear but it might be because:
1. You landed late (6 months after copr) which makes the photo on it stale.
2. Photo didn't meet their 'specs' (dimensions, clarity, brightness/contrast/color tone, tampering, etc)
Any of these reasons is enough for them to reject the photos. Again I am very sure about the exact reasons for rejection. These are just by guesses.

I have noticed that after the photos are delivered it take approx. 30 days.

Hi there... I just got a request for new photos... When you say it takes approx 30 days, when is that from?
I was at 47 days and they sent the request. If i sent the photos today and they received them say tomorrow would it be 30 days from when they receive them?

I don't think any of those reasons apply to me and i got the photos 1 week before i landed.
I got them done at AMA and she assured me that everything was correct as i was a bit nervous and asked the lady several times if the photos were fine.
Can i call CIC and ask them why as i didn't get any reasons written on my letter to say why it was rejected, just that i need two new photos.
I am so sad right now as i had a trip booked and now its all ruined

I just received request today as well!!! I'm so angry and sad.
I went to a professional place and I made triple sure with the lady it was correct! I didn't however put my name and date of birth on the back... I'm thinking this might have been the problem...
Keep me updated with everything! So we can follow each others timeline. I had an upcoming trip booked which may need to be changed with im so upset about.

Oh dear- sorry to hear this. Reckon it takes another 30 days upon receipt of pictures.

Just ensure that you don’t make travel arrangement till you get your PR cars in-hand.

I knew there was chance it wouldnt arrive in time. But i gave myself 2 weeks on top of the processing time hoping i would have enough time for any mail disturbances.... Not thinking my photos would ever get rejected! I went to a professional place and made sure with the lady like 3 times is it good. I'm so angry and sad this has happened.

In my case I had asked the immigration officer during landing whether my photo was alright or should I give him another one since I was carrying extra photos with me. He said my photo was 'perfectly fine'. And then their own people rejected my photo. Well I am on day 46 after my new photos were submitted. But this time is variant. It might take just a few weeks for you. You can't really say. You can go with that PRTD option if it helps you.

No PR Cards have arrived to this day. *What numbers do I press to get to an Agent?* I have called EVERYDAY and the calls get cut off...... I also did up the web form and no response....

Try pressing '*' it might work

Sorry to hear about you having to cancel your trip. I got an email for photos today as well, unfortunately this means we are in the same boat.

I didn't write my details on the back of my photos, but it could be because my photos were about 2 months over the 6 month specification. I recently applied for a US visa in Vancouver and they could tell when I first used the photo (information shared between governments I guess... hadn't used those photos with the US previously).
I'm going to get new photos done and follow the email down to a T, and send new ones in today!

Not sure if that will work cause I've heard they can take 1 week to say 2 weeks processing time... We had a trip to Japan booked for only 10 days.. so i don't think i want to risk it and be stuck in Japan.

PRTD processing times vary.... when I called to find out about it at the LA office, was told it could take up to 1 month to issue!

Don't worry much. That's been a usual case for most recent immigrants. In fact, 3 of my family members got the PR cards last Thursday, except the 4th member - my son. I called cic today and got to know that he needed a photo retake. They sent me the whole requirement document to me via email while on the call.

I inquired the exact question about processing time after photos are received: the agent said around a month.

If you want to travel without PR card, there is still an option to get a proof document. you can call CIC number and follow the instructions to get that issued. I am not sure though, as to how long does that take. But I assume it should be quick since they must take into account situations where someone has to travel outside Canada on a short notice.

I am sorry to hear about your situation.Its a tricky situation to be in. Ill keep you posted about my progress. I pray that your timelines are met and you get to travel on time. Fingers crossed!

In my son's case (for whom we require to send new photos), his mouth is a little open. That is the only thing I can account for photo resend request. Make sure to read the instructions in above PDF carefully. You are supposed to take that as a print to the photo studio.

Thanks mate. But I checked the above and my photos met this specs. I am wondering if new photos i send will end up getting rejected as well as I dont know my mistake so as to rectify
