I landed July 4, got photo request August 23rd, photo received on August 25. Application approved October 20th. Now waiting for my PR card.

Status changed to "reviewing documents": October 20, 2017
Approved in CIC Account: October 23, 2017

No request for additional photos, shockingly.

What do you mean when you say "Landed"? is it because you applied outside canada and that day you arrived to canada? sorry, it's a bit confusing for me, I've seen it many times

Is everything fine, if it links to MyCIC account without any issues?Or further phone call to follow up is required?In my case, the immigration officer asked " are you using the same address mentioned in your work permit" and she told that she is going to enter the same and I was able to link successfully within few hours.

I applied outside Canada and "landed" means I traveled to Canada to complete the PR process.

Landed 8th July 2017 and we got picture request on the 31st aug sent them that day . Got to them some time early sept did not track . Just checked mycic and it has been approved for all members of my family

It is based on the Canada Post tracking. CIC will not update you when they get the photos

I'm pretty new to the canadian immgration system (which btw is a million times more refined than the US system) so I really can't be sure. I was not able to link my account for almost a month and to be honest I did not care much as I heard that its not maintained as well. Its only when I had to change address that I had called IRCC and found out that old address was never entered. Once the agent entered it, I was able to link my account. I don't think there is any issue in your case as you can link your account.

Why are folks getting picture requests? Is it because CIC is misplacing them or they don't meet standards or because the date and other info is not entered on the back.
