Hello,

I'm from Morocco and I live in London.
For this year holiday , I've planned to visit Canada (Toronto), I checked VISA processing time from London centre and it said 7 days. I've applied for a tourist visa 1 month before my departure on "On line" procedure.
Till today, I haven't received any answer and my trip is planned in 3 days...
I've applied for many visas in my life (USA, Singapore, France. Thailand,....) and I've never had any issue , I always got my visa in 1 week in average, this is the first time that my visa request is still pending one month after my application...
Now, I'm going to loose my flight ticket (I haven't took any issuance because I didn't expect any issue), 50% of what I paid for airbnb...they are going to ruin my summer holiday
I contacted them by email and they keep saying " your application is currently under active review"
Is there any way to complain ?
I'm totally lost , dunno what to do ...

You applied from the UK but since you are Moroccan the processing times may be similar for a Moroccan citizen in Morocco. Unfortunately times specified are only estimates so you have no recourse and the recommendations are not to book any non-refundable travel before receiving visa. Hopefully you receive your visa but it doesn't look promising. I would consider canceling your airbnb so you get some of the money back.

Unfortunately there's nothing you can do but wait. The posted processing time is an estimate only - actual processing can take anywhere from a few days to several months. Your current processing time is by no means unusual.

Generally speaking, we recommend people apply several months in advance of their travel and never book flight tickets until the visa has been approved.

Thank you for your quick answers.
I thought that the flight tickets are required for visa request. But you are right..
As I never got any visa issue...I didn't expect this situation at all.
Anyway, thanks à again
