Hi

Ok so i am currently in the process of applying for PR to Canada through cohab sponsor

I will be visiting in Canada in june this year and on a 6 months tourist Visa.

Due to the above circumstances i have been advised ensure i have enough money to be a tourist for this time, have ties to the uk, not bring ALL my belongings with me and book a return flight.

So my I have a few questions

1. I have been told that i should book a return flight to reassure Canadian immigration when i enter the country that i will not over stay my visa. Is it possible for me to book a flight to the states at around the same time my tourist visa expires will this reassure them. Say to vegas would this reassure them and let me into Canada. I am unsure whether i will try and extend my tourist visa or travel the states for a bit and as everything is not set in stone i am exploring my options.

2. I am supposed to be going on a family vacation to the states in July with my partners family. So i will be on a 6 month tourist visa in Canada, I want to travel to Spokane on a trip for two weeks then i want to come back to Canada until my visa runs out, once expired i am looking at flying into the states to explore for bit. My question is on a tourist Visa in Canada can i got back and forth over the border to the states if i also get US tourist visa.

3. This is linked to the above, my partner lives 10 minutes away from the US/Canada border and they go over a lot to buy gas, food, petrol. They have nexus cards so can whiz through and i know i have to wait in the line but am i am able to travel the states over and over and over again and back to Canada without any trouble or do i have let a time pass between visits. When i had a study visa in Canada this was not a problem however i am unsure if it the same with a tourist visa.

4. Once my 6 months tourist Visa expires in Canada around the beginning of December could i go and spend 1/2 weeks in the states then come back in the states and get another 6 months tourist visa, or do i have to be out the country longer or return to my home country

Please help

Many thanks

There is never a guarantee that Canada lets you into the country no matter what proof you have.
I just want to tell you something from my last experience when I traveled to the USA and back:

United Airlines wanted to see a valid visa for Canada before boarding although I am visa-exempt from Germany. I had a visitor record for Canada so I was fine. But if I would have relied on being visa-exempt with no valid visa for Canada they wouldn't have let me board the plane. So the US airlines can end your plans on flying into Canada not just the Canadian border officer.

Maybe you can ask the Canadian border officer if he can give you a visitor record instead of only the stamp in your passport so that you would be able to travel to the states and back.

You can apply for a visitor extension online 30 days before your visitor visa expires for $100. You don't have to leave the country and come back.
