Hi,

I am applying tourist visa for my parents for 5 months. I am PR holder. I created cic account for my dad.
I am confused with few questions:

1. Are you giving someone access to your application? Should I choose yes?
I filled out their forms and submitting with my dad CIC account.

Yes, I will be appointing a representative to apply on my behalf

2.Did your representative give you a submission letter?
I dont know what is a submission letter but I already filled out representative form imm5476.

Yes or No

3.There are fees associated with this application. Will you be paying your fees or are you fee exempt?

I am paying their fess with my visa card.

Yes or No

I also want to know if i have to take return ticket for them to apply for regular visitor visa because i also want them to stay more than 6 months.

Thank You

Others can comment as well but just be aware that sometimes asking for a 5 / 6 month stay upfront on a visit visa can often be a reason for rejection versus a 2/3/4 week stay upfront just to get the visa then on arrival have CBSA give 6 months by default. Not saying this is always the case but something to be aware of should it happen with the application is upto you.

Note not advisable to buy a ticket before visa approval or at least not a fully refundable and also not a return greater than 6 months which could be questioned by CBSA on arrival. If wanting stay more than 6 months extend stay as a visitor after arrival and have a ticket that can be changed.

Why not a super visa if wanting a long stay ?

You will not be approved a visitor visa if you state upfront you want your parents to stay for longer than six months. @Bs65 is entirely correct. Have you considered a super visa?

Hello Friends,

I am PR holder and living here from last 2 years and planning to apply for parents visitor visa. I want to know how much amount they should have in their bank and FD's will consider or not and property papers also. Can i attach my indian bank balance statement and canadian bank statement to support their stay and travel expense.

Secondly, if i would like to invite my sister and her daughter so they also have to show some funds or if my father shows that he will pay for all the expenses for my sister and her daughter , then it will work and in that case how much should be liquid funds and will Fd's consider in that case.

Thirdly, i should apply for 4 members visa together like my father, mother, sister and her daughter or should i go for my parents first and then for my sister and her daughter after parents visa approval. or is it possible to apply for my sister daughter visa along with my parents without my sister visa

My mother is a LIC agent and my father was having real estate business but not registered. so what should i show in that case retired?

They have their ITR's , FD's for 27-40 lakhs , 4-5 lakhs in bank account and properties. Is it okk to show and what should i show to prove their ties with INDIA and to convince that they will go back to INDIA

They dont have the marriage certificate so their passports, my passport and other government documents are enough to prove their relationship right or do they require any affidavit from court

Please advise

Thanks

There isn’t a set amount. Transferring a large sum into their account wouldn’t help their situation since it would be clearly your funds and not something they earned so just submit proof of their actual savings and assets. You can attach your financial records but the decision will be primarily based on their own savings. Your parents need to apply separately from your sister and her child. Your parents have a much better chance at being approved. Your sister is an adult and will be expected to show her own finances. If she is married it can be her husband’s finances. Your sister asking to stay for 5 months would be a huge red flag. Would suggest she ask for 2-3 weeks maximum but without strong ties and savings her chances are low.

Thanks a lot Canuck78 for the reply.

so should i make a separate gc key account for my father and then apply their visitor visa or i can use my gc key account.

secondly, if the parents are retired so how can we show their ties as they dont have job or business to go back but only properties.
my father is doing real estate business but they dont have the registration for that so should i attached a letter of explanation as he has some rental income and some property deals he do every year by purchasing/selling
