Hi everyone! My mother in law applied for a tourist visa to help us take care of my daughter. We applied February 2021 and it is still on 'Submitted' status. She then sent a web form for the authorization exemption but got rejected as she did not attached any documents to it.

She then replied in their rejection email and attached her passport copy and proof that she's related to my husband. That was 16 days ago.

Does that mean that since she was initially rejected she cannot apply for an exemption again? Or can she submit a brand new request inline but this time attached all of the mecessary documents?

Thank you!

She needs to submit a new exemption request, this time attaching the necessary documents.

Thank you. She submitted another one and still no response. Today is the 14th day. Does that mean she got rejected or should we send again for the 3rd time?

Don't submit multiple requests. IRCC has specifically said that sending another request while you are waiting for an answer on a previous request may result in delays. Just wait.

Just want to clarify that she still must qualify for the TRV. If one has been granted a TRV then you can travel because you meet the travel exemption. Qualifying to travel doesn’t mean that one will be granted a TRV. She must prove that she has the funds to support herself, show her previous international travel, show her ties to her home country, etc. Is your spouse a PR or citizen? Would add that saying that your mother needs to come to Canada to care for your child is a bad idea because that is considered work.
