Tourist and Studying

So I'm from a TRV exempt country, so if I'm in Canada on that for 4-5 months I'm fine to enroll in a course of distance study right? In this case the online course is through a University based in the United Kingdom. Since its not a Canada based instititution I will not need a Canadian student visa right?
