Hello! I just want to ask, if I am going to visit Canada to attend a wedding of a cousin and also for vacation, what should the purpose of the visit be? TOURISM or FAMILY VISIT? I only have the wedding invitation, not a written letter with all the details of the host and the applicant. Is it better to just put Tourism?

Thanks a lot.

its a family visit do not include tourism it will contradict your purpose of visit condition in order to fulfil visa requirement. please get a formal invitation from your cousin and make sure your first attempt is full proof. it is not easy to get Canada visa so do not risk it.
If I just apply as a tourist without an Invitation, is it okay? I already have hotel booking and flight bookings as well as all the other docs needed.

If you apply as a tourist you need to have a tourist itinerary of what you plan to do and how you will finance your trip which should be kept to 2-3 weeks max. Also you are aware anyway that visits are considered non essential travel for now and not an acceptable reason to travel to Canada at least for an undetermined period of time so when is this wedding planned ?

You should not book/pay for anything until you have your visa approved. It is fine to show a travel itinerary for flight bookings but not advisble to book ticket unless refundable.

the wedding is still on the third week of August. The planned stay is only 14 days. Funds available will be 6000CAD but the bank statement shows way more than that. Cert of employment and tax document will be provided and I have a previous Canada visa that expired last year.
