Hello,

I am struggling with IELTS I need L8,7,7,7 to make 465. Anything less, even 0.5 is taking about 20 points off. I have written IELTS twice already. Once, got 7.5 when I needed 8(Listening) other time, did score 8 in listening but only got 6.5(W), while I needed 7. So I am kinda disappointed, as it already has wasted one month! Now, I am thinking is it possible that I proceed with my application only mentioning * Spouse won't accompany* as it gives me required points even with current IELTS score (Clearly adding spouse cutting 20 -30 points). And meanwhile, keep improving IELTS. And when required scores are achieved I go update the profile changing it to *Spouse will accompany" and updating the latest IELTS score so that when CIC re-evaluate points it would still be same (around 466). Just a thought, I don't know if that's possible or not. just trying to save some time.

Any advice will be appreciated!

I believe you can.
As a matter of fact, claiming spouse as non accompanying is one of the techniques that many use as it prevents the applicant from losing points.
You can simply tell IRCC that the reason you spouse is not accompanying you at this moment is because of the cut off score.

Good Luck,

Good Luck,
Thanks for your input. Are you positive that people have followed this route ? And should I tell ircc that I am marking my spouse as non-accompany just not to loose points? Would not it be misleading them ? And potentially could be a big trouble ?

Yes, honesty is the best policy.
I have seen many people went this route and sponsor their partners later on once they landed.
I do not believe that the truth will mislead them and because troublesome in the future.
Good Luck

Again, I am not a licensed consultant and I am also waiting for my PPR.
if you wish to verify the information I provided, you can either contact IRCC or a lawyer for more details.

this is not misleading.. this is your decision whether to include your spouse or not. you can add them later if you want. some even withdraw their spouses while applications being in process..
