Hello everybody,

I'm buzy, at least trying to, with getting all the documents together for my immigration. My boyfriend who lives in Montreal is going to sponsor me.

I want to feel that I"m moving forward but I'm totally stuck. I just don't know what to do next at the moment, and that feels pretty frustrating since I have to have everything done in a month.

What I did until now:

I fiiled out a few forms: imm008, imm5406, imm5490, imm5669

I've made an appointment with a doctor for a medical examination in Montreal for Juli (I'm visiting Montreal in Juli, before I go back to the Netherlands).

I'm waiting for my police record. Send all the forms for this to the Justice, and I'm going to recieve it in between 2 and 4 weeks.

I wrote a story about how we've met and about the development of our relationship.

I've made copies of pictures of us when we were together in Montreal and pictures of us living here together in the Netheralnds (for 1.5 years)

I just don't know what to do now. What should be my next priority?

Can anybody help me out?
Does anybody know what would be smart to do next?

I feel really stuck

Hope somebody can help me.

Hey Remrov,

Well done! you have put an impressive amount of energy in your application and it seems like you have covered pretty much everything!
I would advise to "take a break" as the whole process can get a bit overwhelming, and it takes up a lot of mental space.
Try and "forget" about your application for a few days, knowing that you have done probably most of what needs to be done.
In a few days, go through your application again with "fresh eyes" to see if it looks convincing, if there are other things you need to address that you haven't seen before.

Feeling stuck is normal, and especially when you are living away from each other, so try and enjoy the time in the Netherlands with friends and family, to distract you - don't forget that once you immigrate to Canada you might not have the possibility to see friends and family so often, so maybe now is a good time, even if of course I understand that you are focused on the application and on the "what is next" ...

In a couple of days, maybe go through the check list, and try to put your application together, to see if you are not missing anything (and putting the dates where you will get the documents that are not physically yet in your possession). What about letters from friends ? in some countries it has to be certified, but it was not clear for me if that was the case or not ( i'm going through London VO, and it says "statutory" but the meaning is different depending on where you live...)

Anyway - just a couple of advices from my side to alleviate a bit the "being stuck" feeling, but well - we have all been there, and there is not much to do about it. It feels much better once you have sent it off, even if it means waiting and waiting...

Good luck!
Sweden.

Thank you both for your advice. That makes me feel better.

We are not living away from each other yet. But we will soon. We have been living here in the Netherlands for a year and a half together, and my boyfriend will be moving back to Canada soon, and he's going to get an adress there. That will be difficult, to be apart again.

I definitely want to spend time with my mom and my twinbrother. That's good idea. I don't have any friends, so the good thing about not having friends here is that I wont miss them when I'm in Canada. I will miss my mom and my twinbrother definitely.

It makes me feel better also to hear/read that it's normal to feel stuck at a certain point. I'm already buzy for months, but most of that time I spend to find out how everything works. The last few weeks I've been really buzy getting everything together.

Thanks again. I will try to get my mind of this for a while. I can sure use that.
