Total number of Federal Skilled Worker applications received by CIC

Hi All,

I have a query on the status of complete applications on CIC's website i.e. /english/immigrate/skilled/complete-applications.asp

It shows the number of applications received under FSW category. My question is how do they count this number?

As I have applied in this catagory and my application was received by CIC on 11th July 2013. Do they count application as received after they receive the payment or notify the applicant by email or mail? As they have not deducted the fees amount from my credit card. and It has been 20 days of receiving my application. so can you please help me how do they put application in received status. According to me possible answers may be
(1) after verifying all the documents completeness.
(2) After payment clearance
(3) After notifying applicant about the receipt of the application by mail or email.

Please help me.

CIC only counts the applications once they have been assessed to be complete. Right now CIC is working on applications from the end of May. So it's going to be a while before they reach yours.

Does it mean that they can count my application as received if it is complete, before deducting fees from my credit card and before sending me application receipt email?

Unfortunately there is usually a lag between the update on the cic website, and you can never be sure until you get the confirmation. Although if the category is still far from being complete, then off course you can pridict that you will make it, and closer the cap the more the risk.
Current status on the CAP seems good for applicants (if I am not wrong).

It is also mentioned on the website;

"Note: Due to the large number of applications we get, we cannot check that each one is complete on the same day it gets to the office. The numbers on this page are updated at least once a week, but are only a guide. There is no guarantee that an application sent in now will fall within the cap by the time it gets to the Centralized Intake Office."

It was really helpful. My NOC is 2174 and CAP status is 120 as of 29th July, 2013. Do you think I will make it?

If you spend some time reading the other threads in this forum you'll find that applicants who submitted their applications around May 23-25 are just being charged now. This means CIC is working on their applications.

My case is similar to urs, I too have sent application by 3rd week of July 2013 to CIC Nova Scotia and still waitin for a formal acknowledgement/receipt of the application. The count of completed applications is increasing every week but they still say "The number of complete federal skilled worker applications received as of May 4, 2013 is an estimate". They should update the status of completed applications counted as on - the latest date so that we can understand applications of which month is being counted at present.

It seems to be a long wait till there is some clarity.
