Toronto Scarborough Citizenship 2012

Here is my timeline:

received your application - December 15, 2011.

started processing your application on October 4, 2012.

notice on March 25, 2013 to appear and write the citizenship test on April 25, 2013 at 8:30 AM.

I know my test wasn't in March, but just wanted to share anyway. Also, I have a few questions and will appreciate any help

1. Any idea why my application took so long to go into "in process"? I have seen other people's timeline on this forum...they applied in march/april 2012 and are already citizens, whereas I applied in Dec 2011! It took 10months for my application to go "in process" and then 6 more month for test date.

2. I live in downtown Toronto, but my test was at the Scarb. office and not the St. Clair office as expected. Does anyone have any idea why this is so? I was thinking it will be faster bcuz i live downtown and my local office will be St. Clair.

3. As my test has been at the Scarb. office, will my oath also be at the Scarb. office? Is oath always at the same office as the test?

4. Is there any chance I will get a RQ? I didn't get one yet....do they give RQ after test and before oath by mail?

5. Does it usually take 2months from test to oath at the Scarb office? So I can expect by oath to be around end of June?

Your oath will be most likely at Scarb. RQ can be issued after the test in person. I have not heard of RQ being sent by mail after test.
You should be getting invitation for oath in 2 months time. best wishes.

* Residence questionnaire received: January 9, 2013
* Fingerprint Request: January 24, 2013
* Fingerprint received: February 11, 2013

why did they send you rq? did you travel a lot?

here's the details.

Application Sent : February 3, 2013
Acknowledgement: February 6, 2012 (With the study book Discover Canada)
In process: Nov, 29th, 2012.

It's been 6 months since In process, No letters or RQ's. Is this good news/bad news?

How to find out if it is transfered to St.Clair or Scarborough office?

Just called CIC and got an update.

Application Sent : February 3, 2012
Acknowledgement: February 16, 2012 (With the study book Discover Canada)
In process: Nov, 29th, 2012.

File transfered to Scarborough: Jan 23rd. 2013. (Not updated online yet)

I have not received any letters.

What is average estimate to get a test date once it is transferred to Scarborough? Agent reiterated 23 months timeline. Thanks.

Applied: October 1, 2012
In Process: January 8, 2013
Received RQ (from Sydney): Feb 21, 2013
RQ mailed to Scarborough: March xx, 2013
CBSA mailed to Scarborough: April xx, 2013 (i authorized them to fetch it directly)
RQ sent to St-Clair office: April xx, 2013

Before some start asking so many questions:
I had more than 1160 days in Canada
I work for Provincial Gvt (Ontario)
I traveled a lot (short trips to Europe and USA) - less than 30 days in total though
Lots of stamps in my passport prior to coming to Canada
My wife did not get RQ - we traveled out the same amount of time - not many stamps in her passport (EU country)
One kid born in the USA 10 years ago

Conclusion: no algorithm to get RQ. Just deal with it. Was expecting it though.

Note: Not all trips recorded on my CBSA - one day trip from the USA was missing but I reported it.

My timeline is Applied Apr 2012, transferred to Scarb office and started processing Dec 2012. Waiting for test request.

Anyone with timeline of `Started Processing in Dec 2012` receive letter to write the test ?
