Friends and seniors please suggest to make a decision.....
Advantages/Disadvantages of Toronto
1. About to get PR in December waiting for medicals have the AOR and can extend our WP for another year......
2. After 2 years of stay in Canada...I can apply for Citizenship which takes 2 years after that I can move back to US on TN if we decide to....
2. Wife is currently working as IT Consultant in Toronto
3. Myself can move to Toronto and find a job as IT Consultant
4. In total we can bring home approximately 18K per month (will have to pay taxes at the end of the year)
5. If the job contract is ended for either of us...it take at least 4 months to find a new contract in Toronto
6. My mom can stay with me for 2 years on super visa (can save on before and after school care)
7. Can NOT afford to buy a home(1M) and need to settle down for a condo or town home (399K)...or spend 2 hours a day on commute.
8. High car insurance and very high home prices are the two downsides we came across in Toronto
Advantages/Disadvantages of NJ/NY
1. Have a valid Work Authorization for 5 years and have to apply for GC..it will take another 6 years to get GC...NO Guarantee
2. Both of us have FULL TIME jobs
3. In total we bring home 10K per month
4. Can easily find another job if decided to change...takes less than 4 weeks
5. My mom can only stay for 6 months and have to go back (have to spend on before and after school care + flight ticket for my mom after 6 months)
6. Can buy a decent home for 399K
7. At the year end tax filling we get back our paid taxes as we have FULL TIME jobs.
8. Have to take Health Insurance where as its free in Canada.....how effective is the Canada free health care...Not sure yet
Have 2 kids who are going to school and they want a nice home with huge backyard to play
Q: Should I chose to settle down in Toronto or NJ/NY
Q: How much taxes would we have to pay for approximately 100K earning on our own Incorporated company in Toronto...
Q: As both of us work for multinational company which is present in US and Canada while working in US....can we renew our PR card after 5 years...
Due to high home prices and IT job scarcity, we are little concerned about moving to Toronto..on the other hand we will be in a immigration status fairly quick.
Appreciate for all your suggestions....Thanks
