Planning to land in Toronto by May 2011. It's just that our passports are still with the embassy. According to their PPR notice, visa expiry will be on June 17, 2011. Anticipating! Now, we couldn't buy plane tickets yet because the visas are not yet in. :(
i noticed that your PPR dated june 2010..Ours is october and we received our passport back in november. The official courier of CIC manila is DHL.. How if try to check your courier (DHL) in your locality.

lol thats ok me too...more on winter clothes haha

@ niwrrehs: Why winter clothes? Maraming sale dun pag malapit na winter ulit. Bring more summer clothes kasi after spring, summer na.

By the way, would you know how many months before we get our PR card? Balak kasi naming mag indefinite leave muna sa work then gamitin muna ang visa then balik ulit sa Pinas. Di pa ready to stay longer sa Canada. Pwede bang umuwi sa Pinas without the PR card? Or dapat umuwi na hawak na ang PR card? Your thoughts please? Thanks!

As our visa indicates 1 as number of entry, we must need to wait for our PR card.

Virgie, i attended PDOS this morning. According to the facilitator, you need to have the PR card in travelling outside canada once you already landed. If you will land in Ontario, you will wait for about 3-4 weeks for your PR Cards.

Thanks for the info. How about the residency obligation? Let's say we already have the PR card then we decided to go back to Pinas and back to our work. How long can we stay outside Canada without compromising our PR status?

Dont worry too much. You'll gonna get all the information you want on your PDOS and IOC/COA Seminar.
Cheers

you need at least 2 years of stay in Canada for the span of 5 years to retain your permanent residence...

Thank you all for the info.

Yes, we're Toronto-bound.
