Hi leon.....If i cant meet the permanent residency obligations but back in canada without getting reported at the border. I know i have to stay in canada for next two straight yrs in order for my pr to back to good standing. my question is : can i still looking for jobs and work while waiting and with the expired pr?
 
Yes, you are still a PR even with an expired card so you are fully legal to work.

Leon, what will an employer ask as proof of residency or right to work in this situation?

No, they will just ask for your SIN. If you have a temporary SIN that starts with 9, they would assume that you are on a work permit so they may ask to see that you have an open work permit and are legal to work for them. If you have a normal SIN, they shouldn't ask at all.
