I think its not a good idea to go with lesser known airlines... like Aerosvit as sometimes you may encounter very bad experiences with them...

like really old aircrafts, cancellations of flight, u might have to pay for food & secondly u might not even get indian food or food to your taste... whereas Air india has the latest aircrafts, tickets are inclusive of food & beverages etc...

This is my personal experience & thoughts... u might differ...

The points raised are very much valid. Cost being charged by 5 star are negligible as compared to safety, comfort and food.

One shud not compromise on safety. It has been witnessed that lower charging airlines, pilots, aircraft maintenance, staff training is inadequate.

Thanks.

Just an update I have booked aerovist for 3-may.

hey guys...

I have booked my tickets for 30-apr on air india...

@johncool... don't get the exchange from any agent as the rate also differs from agent to agent...

I would suggest u to compare rates of some of the agents & then make the best chaoice...

I know it for a fact since I have exchanged money frequently in the past...

the exchange rates depends on how much commission does a specific agent wants to keep for himself..

if u are getting higher amount of currency exchanged u can negotiate with the agents for the rate too :)

Any specific reason in avoiding TC / Drafts ??

I am flying on 14th April via AirIndia (Chennai_NewDelhi_Toronto). Anybody travelling on the same date ?

Yes, I second Johncool.

In general, visa end date will be 1 yr from your medical date or your passport expiry date which ever is earlier.
