My interview is wavied, I've send my requested documents and had taken my medical exam on January 20th. 2009. Now I am planning to go to Canada by road with my family. I am requesting some advice and suggestions on it. I have my successful retail stores in USA and want to come back after leaving my family in Canada.
I came to USA in April 2001 and applied for change of status to L1. After 9-11 the process and time frame changed and after my first 3 year L1 approvel, I was not able to renew it again (because of some paper work and re-entry from home country)and keep on staying and working hard in my business, right now I'm very sucessful with multiple locations. I have 20 employees working, bought a house and everything one need.
I don't have any status in USA and got approved for Canada. I may open few stores in Canada also with my experience and money.
Now how can I come back to USA? While going to Canada by road any problems at crossing with kids?
Kindly give me some suggestions and honest advice.

Thank you in advance, looking forward to hear from some senior members.

Nobody have any answer for my request in this forum, I thought we are all here to help each other, exchange our views, give some sugestions, etc. But it look like, if any topic is not related to any body's concern then no one answers.

This is mean, this is not a right attitude, kindly talk and reply, its always help ful, as we all are in the same boat going to Canada

Eduardo (Lalo en mi tierra) you mention that you don;t have any status in US so for you to come back you'll need to apply for a tourist visa, even if you have your PR in Canada you are not exempt of visa to US until you're a Canadian citizen.

Hope this helps.

Peace!

P.D. I'm not a lawyer :-D

as long as you don't have any status in usa you will need a visa to reenter (agreed with cchabert)
if i were you i'll try to adjust my status here in usa first and then move so it will be easy to come back
whenever time.if you are not the main applicant on the canadian immigration paper, try not to move and
let your family go there or see what are your chances to get a usa visa there in canada based on your past
in usa territories.

good luck

maybe you should wait for 6 months in US and see what the new US government does with immigration and out of status people before making your move.

As per the new rule, you have to have a visa to enter in USA from Canada. This is a new intitative by partnership of Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Protection Board for maintaining security in Both Nations. I think as you will be a PR Card holder in Canada, You will have to apply for Tourist visa in US Consulate in Canada.

One thing is also easy now Province of British Columbia has started new kind of drivers license which has US Visa Bar Code number in it. At port of entry, if you drive in direction of Seattle,Washington State, they will scan that Drivers license and let you go.

The only point where I am not clear that whether this Driver license is for every resident in British Columbia province or only to people with Canadian passport. just Check on website!!

Well I think this is one of those cases where you have to consult an experience immigration Lawyer in the U S. Since you will have some time in your hands after you get Your PR visa consult an experience immigration Lawyer immidiately and have him file any paper work needed for you to re-enter the US from canada. With all the money you seem to have a good lawyer will takecare of you.

Dear rascojenkins:

Now you are thinking in right direction. Lawyer's advice is the best. But Congratulations on PR Visa.
