Hey Asviad, i have been reading your posts and you have great input tomthe forum. I have a question for you? My employer is willing to apply for me an Lmia but i have been working for them for a year and more . One of the requirements is proof advertisement for 3 weeks am currently sitting at a s ore of 363 amd noc 3012 my visa expires in 9 months and i am in a dilemma right now. Any input to the issue would be great for anyone who has gone through this lmia as i am pgwp holder. Thanks alot

The whole point of an LMIA is to proof that you looked for a Canadian or Permanent Resident to do the job, so you have to advertise...

I went through the LMIA process last year with my employer, I had been doing the job for 9 months so they obviously wanted to keep me and my permit expired whilst going through the process it was a big mess!

Temporary Foreign Workers section of this forum has lots of information on LMIAs.

If your employer is going to support you via Express Entry for the permanent residency I really don't know anything about the new procedure. Just the old one!

Job advert has to be posted for at lest one month (not 3). And the employer will have to interview any suitable applicants and ONLY if there are no suitable Canadians/PR only then the request for an LMIA (for you) can be done.

It took us over 6 months of advertising, in 4 or 5 different places before they would grant the LMIA. There's the official rules, and there's what ESDC will do.

I know its for Asivad....however, I am on PGWP and got the LMIA to support only PR in 10 days....My wage rate is 19dollar/hour , nOC 1311....we advertised for 1 month but even after the application was submitted the ad's were running on the websites

Thanks paras for the reply. Another question did you have a job already before your employer posted the advertisemnet , because i am in a unionized job , so can my employer put up an advertisemnet even if i have had the job for a year and more . My employer is willing to apply but the querry is thd advertisement as he cant use a year agos advdftisement thats the dilemma .thanks d

Yes, I was already working there for last one year...that's one of the requirement to advertise..
