what I feel really infuriated about is the fact its a weekend now as if they're quite efficient and now we got a weekend, the officials at Abu Dhabi must learn something from this summer's experience. I believe we have run out of words to express our frustration but they don't care much about it. One of the members, who has been active in this topic, got a request for the passport at like 11 pm in the evening on Tuesday. So I think the CIC themselves has got something wrong with them and on top of that Abu Dhabi is suffering with some kind of issue we really don't understand about.

Do any of you have an idea if this happened before, like maybe last year? Or only we are the victims? Btw, I have a cousin living in the US on medical residency or whatever, she went through the same situation. US's online visa system went through some technical problem which lasted for 4-5 months. She suffered so much, just like us. So probably this kind of issue occurs once in a while with these countries.
To tell you the truth this is the first time I applied outside Canada via the online mode. In 2012 I came home, I was on a PGWP but didn't have a TRV to return to Canada and I made the conventional application because there was no facility to apply online outside Canada. I got the result in a month and 10 days. Then I thought I was going through a difficult wait, little did I know 4 years later I'd be going through such long wait
It's my first time as well for online application from outside of Canada. I have always done paper from Pakistan. And online has always worked out for me from inside Canada. And even from Pakistan on paper application, I have always received a decision within 30 calendar days. So we are kind of in the same boat I guess.
Man one thing I can tell you is you will be approved. I just don't know when, that's a million dollar question. You're only applying for a TRV, given my situation overstaying, then being refused then and after all that according to the agent getting 'approved'; you're a clear cut case.

It better be during this month.... all the energy to be patient have been exhausted. This year was the worst year for the embassy in the Abu Dhabi, as if they didn't have enough countries in their plate they end up adding Pakistan as well...

I had a question for all the Pakistanis on this thread, totally unrelated to the topic under discussion here, but I thought I'd ask anyways.
I need a police clearance certificate to apply for a student permit ( Winter 2017 session). Given the pathetic processing times , I am going to apply by this week or next week latest. However I am not sure about the police letters I require since ive lived in multiple cities. Below, are the names of the cities ive lived in and the years I was in that city.
Karachi: 2005-2006
Sydney, Aus: 2006-2007
Karachi: 2007-2014
Islamabad: 2014-2016
I already have the police letter from Australia because they have a proper system. Im not sure how many clearances I require for Pakistan. Ive lived in Karachi for more than 6months twice. Does that mean I need two separate clearances ?
Since you guys recently applied for student permits, any advice/suggestions will be appreciated.
