Tips for a successful BOWP application

Hi,

I am currently on Open PGWP and applying for BOWP and waiting for PR

Question no. 3 in IMM5710 asks

3) I am applying for one or more of the following
a) Apply for a work permit with the same employer
b) Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer
c) Restore my status as a worker
d)Get a new temporary resident permit (for inadmissible applicants only)

can someone help me with this?

Hi All,

Currently I am on Post Graduation - Work Permit and want to apply for BOWP whilst I am waiting for PR.

Submitted required documents last week for PR.

What shall I select for myself and my wife application in BOWP application (She joined me last year on open work permit whilst I was on Post Graduation Work Permit)

Form IMM 5710 - Main Applicant :

3) I am applying for one or more of the following

a) Apply for a work permit with the same employer
b) Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer - YES (Not Sure ?)
c) Restore my status as a worker
d)Get a new temporary resident permit (for inadmissible applicants only)

Detail of Intended work in Canada:

Q.1 Is applicable to us? Ans. Open work permit

Q2. to 7 : Are they applicable to us

Similarly, for wife application what shall I select in above two sections.

Will it remain same?

She is working as Technical Assistant for a company.

i am going for option (b), how about you?

Are you submitting online, do we need to validate form before uploading?

After validating I believe we dont have to sign physically, can we upload it straight way after validating?

Hello everyone,
My wife's work permit extension / BOWP approved as on 06-02-2018 and her old VISA and post graduation work permit was expired as on 30-03-2018.

She is planning to apply for her new VISA in this week or next week, she is waiting to get employment letter from her employer.

Is there any problem now as per immigration law and rules like she is staying there after visa expired. Her BOWP work permit is valid up to 05-02-2019.

Background: BOWP application, CEC Inland EE applicant, currently on PGWP.

1. Under optional documents there is a Schedule 1 - Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada (IMM5257). First of all, it says 'made outside' and secondly, I understand that it is an optional document. However, is it optional for everyone or only applicants from visa-exempt countries?

2. I am applying for one or more of the following: a) Apply for a work permit with the same employer OR b) Apply for a work permit for the first time or with a new employer. Which option should be selected? I do not think that it would be 'restore your status as a worker'.

3. Personal Details section: Current country of residence: Canada and status is worker, but what should be mentioned in the 'from date' field? The date from your work permit or the date since you first arrived in Canada as a student?

4. Coming into Canada section: If applicable, provide the document number of the most recent Visitor Record, Study Permit, Work Permit or Temporary Resident Permit issued to you. Not sure what they mean here or what document number to provide?

5. Details of Intended Work in Canada section: What type of work permit are you applying for, Open Work Permit? For questions 02 – 08, no information is required and should be left blank?

6. Employment section: Give details of your employment for the past 10 years, including if you have held any government positions (such as civil servant, judge, police officer, mayor, member of parliament, hospital administrator.) Should you list your on or off campus part-time work experience in Canada? There are only 03 spaces provided for employment details, but if you have more, then where should you list the rest?

7. Document Checklist: Application Form (IMM5710), Passport, Photo, Medical Exam, and LOE (cover letter & AOR). Is there any other document required for a BOWP application?

I applied for this a few days ago.

1. I did not complete this form.
2. Option B
3. I entered the date my immigration status started in Canada. Even though I left for 6 months during that period.
4. Look at your permit. There is a document number I believe it should begin with a U.
5. Yes, open work permit. You need to answer question 8. Leave 2 - 7 Blank.
6. List all your work experience to be safe. I created a PDF spreadsheet and included it with my LOE listing my employment history.
7. You will also be asked to fill out IMM5707. This is a form asking about your family's details (Spouse, parents, and your children). This form is to be filled out electronically, but printed and signed. It asks for their full name, DOB, address, marriage status, occupation and whether they are coming to Canada with you.

Please note, IMM5710 is to be completed electronically. You need Adobe Reader to fill it out. You will then press the validate button and it should generate 6 barcodes on the last page. You then enter your name and date at the signature section. A lot of people have trouble with this including me. I had to use an older computer to generate the barcodes so ensure you have plenty of time allocated for your application.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone please help me out with some information I need?

My post graduate open work permit is expiring on 24 June 2019. I am currently not employed but looking for job. My last working day was 25th January 2019.

Below are some questions.

1. I am not sure if I can only apply for bridging open work permit once I recceive approval for my express entry application or before that?
2. Do I need to do medical for bridging open work permit application? Asking because I saw the same mentioned in one of the above threads.
3. Is it necessary to be employed to get approval on a bridging open work permit?

I would really appreciate if someone answers my questions please.

If you apply online, you can apply from anywhere. Either ways, there is no restriction on where you need to be to apply for these. You are either eligible or you are not.
Also u can apply for TRV at the same time as BOWP. You just have to select(check) both in form 5710. No extra charge.

when I check apply TRV and apply new employer, the 5710e can not be uploaded. It said i have to complete the application by mail. How to deal with this problem?

Hi guys,

Just wanted your help. I am applying for BOWP. I have received and applied for PR as well. However, my work permit is ending in less than 4 months so i dont want to take any chances.

Anyways under the question :" Have you been told by a IRCC office that you are in principal approved for permanent residence in Canada " - should i answer yes or no. My application for PR did say that i am eligible to apply for BOWP. Anyways because my file is still in process so i answered no and when i proceeded to application the visa form that i got to download had only visitor visa/transit visa options. So the only other option left is to answer yes ?
