Enter information about present and past employer not employer's.Jalex23 said:I was going to send the BOWP application today but I am having trouble.
First the online tool said that IMM570 was not valid because I checked "Initial temporary resident permit or extension of temporary resident permit" and if so the application must be sent by mail. Therefore I only left checked "A Work permit with the same employer".
Is this correct?
Then I found there was no way to upload the AOR, work permit neither the "Employment History" extra page for IMM570 (three spaces are not enough).
What to do?
The options are quite inflexible. I can only submit:
- Offer of employment
- Proof that you meet requirements of the job being offered
- Digital Photo
- LMO
- Passport
So how do I upload them?
And what about the digital photo? Should I attach it?
I was going to ONLY submit:
- IMM570
- AOR
- Latest Work Permit
I am a little confused. Any advice?
But the IMM570 says "enter the information for the last 10 years"...Jayson said:Enter information about present and past employer not employer's.
Which documents?Jayson said:Scan and attach documents/photo along. You will be fine.
I created a 5 page pdf document, with a small letter, the AOR and a reference to the OB485. You can upload it in the letter of explanation field.Jalex23 said:But the IMM570 says "enter the information for the last 10 years"...
Which documents?
And where do I attach the documents that are not part of the standard list? E.g. AOR. There is no slot where I can upload the AOR as a single document neither a "other documents" slot.
Documents : Current Work permit, Passport copy, etc.Jalex23 said:Which documents?

I have already started it and I was uploading the documents when I noticed there is no "AOR" field... so then I came and ask the experts.Jayson said:You will know how to upload documents once you start the application.
That is what I was thinking... to put all the chunk of documents in the same "explanation letter" as it already says (based on the sample letters in this site) that I am attaching these documents. I think that just makes sense.iam_toby said:I created a 5 page pdf document, with a small letter, the AOR and a reference to the OB485. You can upload it in the letter of explanation field.
I don't know what scanned documents Jayson is talking about tho.
Digital photos? Well uploading a photo is required. So you should upload one.Jalex23 said:I have already started it and I was uploading the documents when I noticed there is no "AOR" field... so then I came and ask the experts.

What are your thoughts on digital photos? Should or shouldn't? I remember reading in the forums it is not advisable to provide too much documentation "just in case" as it might confuse CIC.
I figured it out. Seems that we have to obviate some stuff...Jalex23 said:Incredible, another difficulty...
I have created the Letter of Explanation with the attached Work Permit and the attached AOR, uploaded digital photo and passport.
So far so good.
Now... where is the "next" button?
It says in the online form:
"You must upload every requested form and document. You will not be able to proceed to the next steps until you upload every form and document requested."
So basically it is complaining that I haven't provided:
- "Offer of employment"
- "Labour Market Opinion (LMO) from HRSDC or proof of submission"
- "Proof that you meet the requirements of the job being offered"
As Jayson has kindly stated, BOWP is open so no need for those documents. I can provide my contract, my diploma and some certs. But the LMO I don't have one.
What to do?

From this thread: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/bowp-online-application-trouble-help-please-t157850.15.html
The secret relies in this question "trio":
----------
Have you been told by a Citizenship and Immigration Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?
Have you submitted a permanent resident application in Canada?
Do you have a written job offer?
-----------
If you select NO-YES-NO it will only send you for a visitor VISA.
IF you select NO-YES-YES it will ask you for LMO, proof of being able to fullfill the job and the job offer.
If you select YES-YES-NO this is the BOWP, as it only asks you for your passport, digital photo, letter of expalanation (schedule1) and IMM5710
This is more like it.
Thanks guys for all your help, this forum rocks!!
Option 2. She being your spouse, gets Open work permit.PP323 said:I have one question, my current work permit is getting expire in Dec, so I am eligible to apply for BOWP.
Is it possible to apply for Open work permit of my wife in the same online application which I am going to file for my bridge work permit?
She is currently in Canada on Dependent (VISIT) visa.
I have two option:
1. apply for my own BOWP and her Visitor Record. once she gets her Visitor record then apply for Open work permit.
2. apply for my own BOWP and her Open Work permit.
Which one would be better and valid option?
Any help is greatly appreciated
