Hi Irinako,

2016 batch, complication with medical, medical started from Oct 2016, and only got medical done by March 2017. and didnt hear anything ever since. I dont have ECAS, so cant check the status. Online Tool in CIC only shows medical received, nothing else. I was surprised to see the Pre-arrival letter, nothing else, anyone has any experience? when do you hear anything back after the pre-arrival letter?

Thanks

Looks like they are working on your file ija1971! So it sounds positive. Can you share which office is processing your file? Thanks!
Ottawa is the office. Today I got another email for providing proof of parentage. They asked us to reply to this email with the copy of sponsor's passport including the page showing parentage. Also in my cic I noticed that BC changed to " We are processing your background check.
In the section of submitted documents they asked us to upload passport. I hope it is applicants (parents) passport.

hi ija1971

do you have any specific reasons that would make them ask for parentage proof? I am just trying to see the logic here as our medicals expire beginning February and I really don't want to get them done again :( Maybe you have something that makes your case more complicated and that is why they already know that your case might take longer than the previous medicals expiration date?

sorry, based on your explanation, the upload passport request is probably not the parents' passports but the one they asked to prove parentage, i.e. sponsor's passport.

Hi Anon2016,
mine is with Ottawa, i just got the that letter this morning without any other requests, so I was wondering if that meant the decision has been made. I cant look at the status, i only use the CIC online tool to view, and it said it's still in progress...
Thanks

Thanks oceanslands!

In the email they mentioned that " Please reply directly to this email and put your application number in the title." That is why I am confused. Did they ask for the same document to upload also?
I don't know why they asked for parentage proof and also worried about re medical even though there is enough time to process. Any way my parents are doing medical today..
