Quick question, my father is the main applicant and mother depended, so the email letter stated with name and UCI# of my father not mother, I believe we have to submit both of their passports, photos along with the letter. Please correct me if I am wrong.

My heartiest congratulations to everyone from Ottawa office getting Passport requests - it is a great achievement.
Just in this blog I have noticed atleast 4-5 people have got Passport request from Ottawa office in the past 2 weeks.

But correct me if I am wrong - not even 1 person has even got "Background in Process" with their file at NDVO.

Can anyone from NDVO share if their background is in process ? Guess we all from NDVO are in the same boat with CIC saying " Background check will be the next step" which means nothing is happening at NDVO as of now.
It is Standstill.

Please share if anyone with their file at NDVO have got "Background in Process".
Thanks.
Hello Sam001

Mine is actually Different:

Medicals, RPRF, Documents update last July, Background Check in Progress since January 2017.
They asked for PCC from UK for my Mother, that submitted as well, but no PPR yet.
Medicals have already expired so i guess it will be re-medicals as next step

Thanks
Raminder Singh

Do you have your parents and their dependents in your application?

My daughter has completed her Advanced BioTechnology course and received Work Permit. But getting very law wages.I wish her to complete graduation. But I feel I cannot afford more for her graduation. Can you suggest some CoOp courses for which I Have to pay minimum? Will you Please guide me.This question is out of this forum but I am asking you as in your signature column there is a mention of CoOp Education.

and how long is the validity of the VISA? .. 2 mths.. 6 mths or more

Normally, the PR Visa is given up to the validity of the Medical. Medicals are valid for 12 months. If someone gets PR Visa 6 months after his medical; then he will most likely get 6 months validity (12 mo - 6 mo) on his visa within which he has to land in Canada to become a PR.

Now if Medical is long expired, it's expected to get a short-term PR Visa validity. It can range anywhere from 1 month to 6 months.

I haven't received any updates since my sponsorship was approved back in March 2017. couldn't link my application either. Can someone tell me if they are stuck at the same stage as mine, or should I be calling Ottawa office. My application was received on Jan 5 2016. Thank you.
