Hello January Applicants. I send my application last night and received this morning signed by ERICA.
Anybody else 2016 January applicants..

10 seconds service time is assumed to be average and normalized.
This make a lot of sense to me, with the 3 servers, that would be:

3 x 8 (hours) x 60 (min) x 60 (sec) / 10 = 8640 (on Jan 4), the rest on Jan 5 & 6.

So my guess is:
Applications arrived by noon Jan 4th make it to the 5000.
Applications arrived by morning-ish Jan 5th (hello Purolator) make it to the 10,000 "retained".

I don't know if I talked to you or one of your partners. I was the one waved goodbye to you when you guys left the building...
You may not notice me until I started talking to you, but I was beside you guys for a while so I caught most of your conversions, lol.

Our conversions was like:
Me: How many packages you got delivered?
You: 150.
Me: 115?
You: 150!
Me: Wow, that's a lot.
You: How about you.
Me: I am not a courier. I am here for fun...

Actually, I was there for two reasons:
1. My package was with 3Xpress so I wanted to see how it went.
2. I have a friend from CBC who could not make to there on Jan 4. So she wanted me to take some pictures and gather some information for her. That's also why I was running all over the places and talking to lot of people there, lol.

Well if we were talking numbers it had to be me. If I saw you I'm good with faces I'd probably remember you right now I'm drawing a blank. Plus I was helping those poor newbie couriers who were asking for advice as to what to do and where to go with single packages. Poor guys really got shafted.

And I thought I was busy. :)

In a perfect world, your assumptions would be true.. but remember that CIC are humans as well they do have breaks, etc. so you cannot use 8 hours.

He mentioned - the 10 sec is AVERAGE, considering breaks, fatigue etc.

Jan 08, 2016 CIC CPR - CIC RTC MISSISSAUGA ON 550.00

My app is finally in the CAP now if I am not mistaken. Share a few tips to ease the tension, since I went through this for more than 13 months today.

1. CIC are humans. They don't reject on small errors. Yes, my app has errors like not 9 mon valid credit card. Missing native language in one box in one form, Schedula A uses old form. I believe CIC is hunting for big mistakes, not tiny ones. Mine is not perfect, but they still kindly accept it. Maybe they will reject down the road. I wish a smooth sailing from now on.

2. CC charge will not directly invoke text message to the cell phone. I have to actually look into my card web page to find it.

3. HR is my courier. Kudos to them. Without them, I don't think I can make it. I wish anyone else in this forum good luck. With the cap raised to 10000, you chance is much higher than last year.

wow lovely...when did CIC get your applicatioN? what time and date was it?

4. Last year I missed 5000 CAP for 3 days and got rejected. Definitely using CanadaPost snail mail is totally wrong to start, not even to mention using register mail instead of express. This forum is the life saver. Many thanks to Rossi!

Congrats. How did you find local courier "Happy Road" ?
i was monitoring 2015 submission process last year painfully. Obviously I learned from my mistake. Based on Rossei's 2015 spread sheet, I choose the earliest courier, who is HR, and went with them this year 2016.

Again without this forum and Rossei's creation of Google Docs, I think I will just use big names this year over CanadaPost. But Rossei mentioned multiple times in both 2015 and 2016 threads, local courier performs better, hence I skipped big couriers. MMCS has some good reason to tell the difference between big names and small couriers. I have to dig deep to find small couriers using Google.

I wish everyone got into this year's 10000 cap are ALL accepted.

It is very important that the number of forum members = 164 be considered as a representative sample of the total population, otherwise, what is the point of having a google spreadsheet tracking everything.
The early (the happy road customers) applicants represent a greater percentage of the population in Toronto
The late (unlucky and unhappy) applicants represent a smaller percentage of the population from rest of Canada
But normally speaking 164/15000 = 1.09% (+/-) is a fairly accurate number.

Can someone tell if there is another forum or facebook/tweeter page like this?
If yes,
we can add those members also (remove duplicates)
This may increase the percentage a bit and give the purolator 9:43 am applicants a slightly more hope.
