Yes. CIC CPR $550. Delivered by Happy Road.
Not me tho. I used bank draft.

Is bank draft allowed? When I asked the bank for certified cheque, they issued me bank draft without telling me it's bank draft not certified cheque. I didn't know the difference at that time. I was told by my friend's immigration agency that we cannot use bank draft so I submitted certified cheque last minute... I know they are basically the same thing but still I couldn't take the chance and submitted certified cheque instead.

Does anyone how we do know if CIC has cashed certified cheque? Or there is no way we will know...

Hi Ya61x, this is what I read " Guide 5772 - Application to Sponsor Parents and Grandparents " then click step 3

CIC will return your application in all of the following circumstances:

•The Fee Payment Form – for Sponsors of Parents and Grandparents (IMM 5770) is not included in your application;
Fees are not paid by certified cheque or credit card;
•Payment is declined when CIC attempts to process the fees required
•The credit card used for the payment of fees expires in less than nine months after the date on which you submitted your application;
•The fee amount authorized on the Fee Payment Form is insufficient

Step 4: Mail the application:

Mailing instruction

Put your forms along with your receipt and all the supporting documentation in an envelope and mail it to:

You can go to a branch with the receipt to check if your cheque is cashed. I don't really know if bank draft is good or not. I wouldn't worry about it tho.

Thanks! I guess I will check with the bank later...

I am not worried because I used certified cheque in the end. In order to get Certified Cheque, we would bring our own personal cheques to the bank and then bank would certify it. It looks different from Bank Draft.

If you submitted a payment form too - I think you are fine.

Sure I did, completed and sent .. Fee payment Form (IMM5770)

FYI:
CIC accepted money orders and bank drafts last year. See details here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/18cBR0XqWnHriJx7_oThC3q5YPb1Qzsu9XMfy7vNFXY8/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=1873367755
So whoever paid by those, don't worry.

I know someone from the last year who prepaid, and received AOR around June. So it should be fine.

Check line 17, Timeline_stage 1 of the link I shared. Looks like you two are similar.

Isn't that not applicable until Feb 1, 2016?
