Request for quick input.

Actually in my mother passport it does not have last name and in given name it is two letter word.

Some of the form has mandatory last name, what should I do in that case.

Thanks in advance.

I had no last name on passport, just two words of given name. When i got my landing document, the given name field was blank and in last name field my actual two words given name was printed. Here is an example:

Passport Given name: abc xyz
Last name: blank

Landing document Given name: blank
Last name: abc xyz

I legally changed my name after and now i have a proper surname.

Now in the forms, I have shown my new legal name as follows:
Given name: abc xyz
last name: new last name

I have shown my previous names as follows:

Given name: blank
last name: abc xyz

I hope this helps. Now, its up to you how you want to write it.

Thank you so much

if last name is blank on passport.. and everything is in give name fields then you should put all of the given name values in the lasit name/surname fields on the forms and leave the first name blank..

Thanks, I will write the passport given name in Last name/Family Name/Surname in all the forms and leave the given name blank

Request for information.

As CIC requested for the copy of the passport and my mother passport is in English.

Does it need to be notarized?

Thanks in advance

Could you please advise on this as well.

Well... My mother`s travel passport is in russian and english, except one word (the authority issued). And I made first page certified copy with certified translation (because of this one word). And made one more copy of all pages (even blank) - just copy. If I have time and no baby who cathed cold I would make the second copy certified too (here in Canada it would cost 15 cad only). Although I believe just copy if everything is in english is fine.

Hi all,

I'm trying to applying for my Widow Mother (no dependent) in 2016 and want some advise.
I'm sponsor with no co-signer.

Do we need to send anything else apart from what is requested in document checklist???

I understand that we need to send all the forms signed and
Citizenship certificate copy
Birth certificate
Applicant's Passport
Option C prints for last 3 years.

Please let me know if we need to send anything else like photos or my dad's death certificate or parents marriage certificate or my marriage certificate even though wife is not co-signing or any other thing which i'm missing.

Plz help i know i'm overthinking but just wanna be absolutely sure.

Thanks

Marriage certificate plus her husband (u called dad) death certificate can be given . That will support ur mom statement that she is now widow.
Also please make sure the birth certificate issued by local authorities clearly show ur mother name to prove relationship of u with principal applicant.

Hi guys, did you submit original or copy of noa? Thabks

I didn't see anyone from Edmonton using Fedex in 2015? Just wondering if someone did? How was the experience with time stamping?

Purolator seem to have 8:45am time of delivery but was actually delivered after 12 noon on 2nd Jan 2015 (misleading time of delivery).

Any suggestions for Edmonton applicants for 2016?

Hi.
I provide my father`s death certificate certified copy with certified translation even its not required. We couldnt find marriage certificate, so we dont provide it.

For the documents I guess thats all you need.
And dont forget to count your wife (and kids if you have) as family member then you calculate minimum income required.

Good luck!

app sent via local courier, fingers crossed.

thanks to everyone for their help - and thanks to Rossei to get this started and keeping it up.

Is it possible to personally drop the application, for people living in GTA?
Or does it has to be via courier?

I checked out a few local courier companies in the GTA, here are my impressions:

VW Courier: These guys have a great website, separate section for the sponsorship program and home pickup service, but their prices are exorbitant, at $200+tax for 8 am delivery.

Metro Mississauga: They too have a separate section for the sponsorship program, however their website looks like it was designed by a 10 year old and their office location is in the middle of an industrial area full of auto repair shops. Prices are slightly above average around the $100 range, but I thought it was a bit shady.

AAA Courier: These guys have been in operation since 1969 and have a well designed website and seem the most professional out of the three. Their prices are also the most reasonable at $60 which includes 1 hr of wait time. Additional waiting us at $30 per hour. However they are not accepting any packages for delivery to CIC until Dec 31st, which also happens to be the last day their office is open until the 4th.

Hope the above will help out some posters who are having difficulty choosing a local courier. If you have come across any others, please share.
