Hi,

I came to Canada in May 2013 and till now i could able to file taxes for only two financial years. First year NOA was for only 6 months income as i landed mid of year and hence the income made for year was low. My second year tax filing (2013-14) was done and have to do the third year (2014-15) tax filing which may happen after submitting the PGP application.

Now I would like to know whether I will be eligible to sponsor my parents when I have only 2 years NOA where 1st NOA is with low income.

Please advice.

Thanks,
Kishore

Hello folks,

I have a question regarding the 2016 documents on CIC's website. After filling out and validating the forms, the code at the bottom of the barcodes shows 2014xxxx, even though the form is clearly dated 2015 at the bottom left hand corner. I had filled out the forms in 2014 and 2013 as well, and they showed the correct years below the barcodes respectively. Is anyone else having the same problem? I called CIC a couple of times to find out about this, but gave up after being on hold for half an hour each time.

If the barcodes are incorrect, CIC could end up refusing the application so I need to get this clarified soon!

I also observed this barcode 2014_xx_x in 2015 forms but I am not sure that whether this barcode has anything to do with year of form

May Be a dumb question :P .... 1. Generic Application HAS TO BE FILLED BY PRIMARY APPLICANT OR SPONSOR..

2. My sister whose family size is 6( herself , husband and two children less than 9 years of age )is sponsoring my parents(both father and mother) Ques: What is to be filled in additional dependent forms.

3. What is the purpose of Use of Representative forms

P.S: I am not hiring a consultant so i may be asking a lot of question from you guys.
Thanks in advance

Generic Application has to be filled in by your Father (Principal Applicant) and your mother will be his dependent.
CIC states that you can add upto 5 additional dependants in IMM0008. If it exceeds this limit, you need to use IMM0008DEP. Otherwise this form need not be sent.

Additional dependent form is to be filled in if your father has any other dependents (other than your mother) who is financially dependent on him and aged below 19 years.

The use of representative form is needed only if it is difficult for your parents (Principal applicant) to communicate with CIC. Your sister who is sponsoring your parents can act as the representative so that she will receive any communication from CIC which is meant for your parents.

These answers are to the best of my understanding and I have prepared the forms accordingly.

No, you are not eligible to sponsor until you have sufficient income for last 3 taxation years for your full family size. But if you live in Quebec, the rules are different.

BTW, tax filing goes by calendar year, not like you mentioned 2013-14, 2014-15 and so on. To be eligible for 2016 PGP intake, you need to have NOA from 2012, 2013 and 2014 (2015 doesn't count).

You won't qualify to apply until January 2018.

me too, I think the most important thing form should be 2015, we can do nothing with barcode, it's automatically

I found that Schedule A is still December 2012 version. But looks completely different from previous year form (December 2012 too!) :o

Hi all,

A quick question. If we are using Fedex or Canada Post to send the application form for sponsoring parents, then I presume that we have to use the courier address mentioned in the application package? Am I right in presuming the above?

Also, Question 8 in Financial Evaluation form mentions a single column for amount. Do we have to add the income required for three years and put in that column? and my sister who is sponsoring my parents was on maternity leave but still received her salary in 2012. Does it qualify for any columns where we have to mention our deductions? Kindly advice

Thank you in advance

I would put it under B. An associate degree is a two year course.

Thanks Screech339

For an associate (2 years) graduate, what type of certificate of issued to them? This is under background declaration form. I initially put 'Vocational' but if there's a more appropriate term please suggest.

When mailing the application, should there be a return label label or something just in case?

Thanks

For question #8, write the 2014 Income requirement found under the 'Federal Income Table for Parents and Grandparents Sponsorship' table for your family size.

Maternity leave is under special benefits so there's no need to put the EI benefits figures in the INCOME SOURCES table.

Hello,

The Document Checklist under "Supporting Documents", Item 7 requires "proof of the applicant's relationship to an accompanying dependent spouse or common law partner". If the principal applicant's spouse is listed in form IMM 0008 as a "non-accompanying" dependent, does it still make sense to include a copy of the marriage certificate with the application package?

Please advise.

Thank you for your help!

Thanks PS 1957.....

In the Generic application No 3 UCI, What is to be filled, My mother and father both are on super visa and are in canada

2. Same Generic Application , My parents entered in canada on 10 th of this november, Should i write their arrival in canada

3. My mother passport is going to expire in April, What should i do regarding this.?

"All forms (for both 'sponsorship' and 'permanent residence') need to be submitted at the same time unless CIC changes the rules."

Can someone please clarify this comment. Does this mean that my parents also have to submit their application for permanent residence to the visa office in their country at the same time as I submit my application for sponsorship to the mississauga office?

As far as I understood, I first have to apply for sponsorship, then once my application is approved (approx 4 years as per processing times listed), then my parents apply for permanent residence at the visa office in their country. Am I correct in thinking that?

Thanks

Wrong! You need to submit all required forms and docs (as per document checklist) to CPC-M. Once your application is approved for sponsorship, CPC-M will transfer the file to LVO or Ottawa.
