Thanks for your reply. Much appreciated! It is 1 year from medicals or expiry date of passport, which cannot be less than 6 months from date of issuance. Whichever of those 2 comes first.

Pre-Arrival letter is sent out to those whose application is potentially passed, though the timing may be quite different. We got this letter before the request to do the second medical which did not make much sense.... But it definitely means that they are working on your application and you should see the changes some time soon....Hi guys,
I applied in 2016 but due to my dad's medical it was significantly delayed. Then it was transferred to Hong Kong in March this year. The day before yesterday we received an email of Invitation to Pre-Arrival services. I was just wondering if any of your parents have received this, because this sounds new. Also if they have received this, how long was it before the DM and PPR, especially those from the HKVO? Much appreciated.
Why were you asked to do a second medical, may I ask? Is it because it has been too long or there are somethings that they need to look at? Thanks.Pre-Arrival letter is sent out to those whose application is potentially passed, though the timing may be quite different. Have you tried cornwall? I landed in Cornwall, but that was 12 years ago. It is not as busy so you might have better luck.Hi All
Landing process is much pain in the neck. I was turned down twice at the border (Niagara - Peace bridge) on working days. Second time I asked the officer and he told they do only allow landing process on Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday. That to 8AM to 8:10 AM. This applies to all the three borders in Niagara. My efforts to call the call center failed as the call disconnected automatically after 30 mins. I tried 4 times and no luck. Is there anyone successfully contacted call center and got it done here? If not I will try again next week crossing the border.
After failing to reach out to customer care a few times(I got disconnected too), I was finally able to get through to someone on June 20th. I gave them the information they required and asked them to book an appointment at local CIC office. They said they sent a request on my behalf and I should expect an email from CIC in 2 weeks confirming the appointment.Hi All
