They give you 30 days to submit the passports. They ask you to submit the passports at the LVO( Delhi in my case) but they also have a section that tells you that you can submit to Ottawa - if you are in Canada and will remain in Canada for 3 months.

I submitted to Ottawa as my parents are here on a visit.

Hope that helps.
Which Visa office is processing your application? Ottawa CPC?

Hello Everyone,

My wife immigrated to Canada as a permanent resident in January 2015 and submitted her parents PR application in January 2016 and her brother was also included in the application as a dependant. I was the co-signor on this application. We did receive the initial acknowledgement from CIC of receiving the application but there has been no other correspondence ever since. On ECAS, it says "In Process" under Sponsorship Application Status and "Application Received" under Permanent Residence Application Status.

At the time of the application, my NOA for the previous year showed lower income than the minimum required but we still submitted it because a few months earlier I had provided the correct income information with supporting documentation to CRA so I knew that my income would be reassessed. CRA finally reassessed my taxes in April 2016 and sent me a revised notice of reassessment which I forwarded to CIC. The reassessment reflected income which was more than sufficient for meeting the CIC income eligibilty requirement.

My wife and I followed up with CIC a couple of times to inquire about the status of our application. We have only been told that there was income eligibility assessment conducted in September 2016 and again in July 2017. That's all the information we've been provided with about the application. I am really not sure what the holdup is. Even if they are concerned about income eligibility, they could outright refuse the application or they can require us to provide more income information/documentation. But I find it hard to believe that there is absolutely no movement on the file at all.

Can anyone please advise if they have experienced something similar and/or if there is anything we can do to expedite the application? Any information or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Please note that the timeline on my profile pertains to the sponsorship of my wife and not the more recent application of her parents and brother. Thank you

This was before the lottery so they are still in the process of going through the backlog applicants. If you met and continue to meet all the requirements your application will be slowly processed. The lottery applicants were the start of a new process that are being processed much faster.

When I call CIC, they say that they are working on applications from January 2014 so according to them it's not even my turn yet since our application is from 2016.
