Tips for 2016 (Future) PGP Applicants

Do you know how soon the applicant need to come to Canada?

Here is my timeline:
Application sent to Mississauga
Application submitted on Jan 4th 2016.
AOR received on Feb 2016,
File moved to Ottawa VO
Medical/PC/RPRF Requested in Oct 2016,
Medicals done on Oct 30th 2016
RPRF paid in Oct 2016
Medicals Passed on Nov 5th 2016
PCC submitted on 22 Nov 2016
Background check in July 2017
PPR request email on August 9th 2017, late evening
Passport submission on 14th Aug 2017, in VFS India
we are still waiting for the sms message about our passport getting shipped, in other words waiting for the passport
myCic Account got updated on Saturday 26th Aug, saying, background check completed, my application got approved, and a new table showing visa expiry date, i.e. on or before 3rd Nov 2017 my parents should do their landing

so finally new instruction to submit passport in India. it took almost 18 days to change VO from Ottawa to New Delhi.

Anyone submitted passport to ottawa in August? They received mine on 14th Aug.
Will the status on ecas change?

Currently it is showing Decision made (Medical received)

Hello members ,
I got a passport request for my parents august 15 to submit . I have checked my cic account they only give one month to land . Unfortunately my father is sick . Can someone please tell what options do I have . Can I ask for the extension and inform visa office and if yes what's the procedure . And the other thing if condition he's not willing to come is there any procedure if visa office let my mother come alone ?
Please help if anybody knows .

Just a quick update on my file:

Got my gcms notes
LVO-Ottawa
Medical was expiring on November 3rd, 2017
They renewed med until 08 august 2018

Good news: Well at least an agent has noticed that medicals are about to expire, and the option of extending the medicals is available

Bad news: it seems that it will take longer than two months to get the PPR

yes indeed .. I was so worried that my parents would have to re-do their medicals, so at least now we know that they can extend the medicals if they need to

In our case they didn't extend medical. We had only two and a half weeks to enter after PPR. Passport was received back two days before flight (fortunately)...

nothing actually ... I guess an officer was working on my file and it seems that it will take them longer to finish the background check so they sent the medical for reassessment and renewed it

well that means that your file was ready to be approved so they decided to finish it
mine is being stuck with background check since November 25th, and it seems that it will take some more time

I was part of the excited few who had all sorts of activity from NDVO last June when we had background checks and medicals done and also RPRF paid... Since then nothing.
When I check myCIC-just says medical results received- this was an update from last September.

Am jealously looking at others getting theirs.

Anyone else in this boat?
Any suggestions whom to call or query with?

Seems all Visa Offices outside of Canada are still working on apps from Jan 2014.
