What was your search query on open.canada.ca

I've been trying same thing, but no luck. Instead I've found the actual number of persons applied under PGP in 2014 and 2015 (9,061 & 8,069 respectively). So, it's safe to say that for every 5K applications, there are 8,500~9,000 applicants.

Looks like the average is less than 2 per application which is a good thing.
Either ways it seems 2014 and 2015 applicants will see progress this year and next year.

Seeing progress means Mississauga centre progress?
When they had the old web page showing processing time, they had two stages, one in Canada and one in visa office of parents country. The processing times for visa offices abroad was ridiculously long. If I remember correctly, Mississauga office showed roughly 4 years and visa offices abroad had between 5 to 6 years processing time for majority of cities (with a few exception).

So when you guys say it will take 5 years on average are you referring to both stages? Mississauga and visa office abroad? Or just 1st stage? I

If the actual backlog was ~50K persons at the end of 2015 and CIC keeps on accepting ~20K PGP applicants (persons) and processes ~20K persons each year; how come they will ever eliminate backlogs? Mathematically, the number will stay around 50,000 PGP persons all the time. ???

CC Credit Limit reduced by 1100 today. I hope its from CIC.
Hearty thanks to everybody in this forum for sharing and making me feel I'm not alone. :)

Yes that is the conclusion i reached in my earlier longer post as well. Intake and visa issue are similar numbers. So processing time should be around 3-4 years from now on unless they increase the number of parents intake each year.

My estimate is 3-4 years for the entire process.

My assumption was same 3~4 (max 5) years when it was 5K (you'll see same on my 'Info' tab on the SS). But now, I think otherwise. If you ask for 10K applications, you will get it in 2 hours but if you don't process more than 20K persons each year it will keep stacking up the backlog. Somewhere in the forum I read that CIC actually processed ~18K persons in 2015 (not sure though).

Anyway I should perhaps postpone this discussion till all of you gets charged. It's a delightful time for some. :)

Would you share the logic/math that led you to this conclusion? Only 4 months ago, CIC website showed a processing time close to 10 years when you combine step 1 and step2. What led you to conclude that now the entire process won't exceed 5 years?
