@Anford congrats on the pr! I am kind of in the same position as yourself and just wanted some clarification, so I have gotten 10 months experience on a pgwp and 2 months on a new work permit which is closed work permit, which is one year and with the same employer, am I eligible to claim the 50 points ?

Just to clarify, in your profile you have more than 1000 points, so did you claim 600 points from your PNP? or your nomination is under the paper based PR.

From what I think, you claimed 600 points from your PNP. Even if you claimed 50 points for the wrong thing, they will deduct it but you will still pass the eligibility for PR.

But for example, if you are under Paper based PR, then you extend you closed wp, and claim 50 pts, I don't think CIC will allow that.

Can you be more specific on the kind of work permit you currently have?

Even if it is one of the eligible permits, you would also need to obtain a written offer of FUTURE full-time employment, for at least one year after becoming a PR.

@Anford the work permit that I got was for saskatchewan pnp, it was for employer with job offer, That pnp is only for paper based so can’t claim 600 points in ee

Currently, I'm permanent resident... before being PR, I was on Close Work Permit. I also had BC PNP (not paper based) and back in my time, it was worth 600 points. I worked for the same company for more than 6 years and that company was written on my current work permit (on that close work permit back in time) and so I was "working for that company stated on my current work permit for more than 12 months".

Hi, here's a tip what to answer to receive 50 points for valid job offer without LMIA.

My situation: I'm BC PNP nominated and thanks to BC PNP support letter, I applied for close work permit which I've been on in Canada now. In my express entry profile I filled following and it gives me 50 points even I didn't have LMIA issued:

Mine is 4163 (category A)

"no"
8. Are you currently working in Canada?
"yes"
9. Do you have a valid work permit for the current job in Canada?

You are LMIA exempt. You have to work for 1 year in Canada to claim 50 points for job offer.

But not sure if that LMIA number means anything on my work permit

No it is not of any use. It is LMIA exemption number.
