Hello Friends,

I am wondering how does one know which office is processing the Visitor visa request ?
I applied online from India, and its been more than two weeks, the processing time for Delhi shows 9 days.
But how do we know which office is processing the request ?

How much time should I be looking at ?

Thanks for your help.

For paper applications: It depends on where you reside.... for example, Gujarat, Maharashtra and all south states are processed by the Bangalore visa office.

If you reside in NCR then your (paper) application will be processed by the NDVO.

Online applications? This is a grey area.... so no idea where these applications are processed.

Processing time? Again, it depends on where you reside/which visa office is handling your application.... processing times on the CIC website are only a guide (not definite).... you must add courier transmission time to this

Hey Bryanna,

Thanks for taking out time to reply.

Yes its so bad. Online application seems so simple, but it is actually a grey area. With only good thing is they do not take your passport until they approve your visa.
Since I put the residential address on Delhi NCR, I am just hoping against hope that the application gets processed in Delhi since Delhi has the least processing time of 9 Days.
But Bad thing is the passport has an address of Himachal Pradesh, and if it goes to Chandigarh for processing then I am screwed. Chd has the worst processing time, 25 days. :(

Its like a black box.

As we don't know where online applications are processed, it does not matter where one is staying while the application is being processed.... ie if you're in Himachal, NCR or CHD.

On getting an approval, you can submit the passport to the NDVO for stamping.

As for the Himachal address.... what matters is your current mailing address and not the address on the passport. So don't worry about this point.

I'll reiterate.... CIC website processing times are only indicative.... don't start counting days as yet.... it could be faster/take longer than these timelines

Submitting online was a stupid decision. I would suggest others to not file online.

The SLA for Delhi is 9 days, but online it took them 28 days to make a decision.
And the icing on the cake for me was that my application got rejected. :( :'(

I'm planning to apply trv of Canada through online in India ? How long it will take? Any suggestions please
Thanks

We applied online from India, below is our timeline hope it helps :
Application Submitted - 10 oct 2015
Passport requested - 26 oct 2015
Passport submitted @vfs - 27 October 2015
Passport received back - 2 nov 2015

I done my medicals and pcc in last year for TRV. Can I use those for applying this time? Or shall I go again?
Thank u

Medicals and PCC are not required for TRV applications. The visa office will let you know if you need to do medicals

Hi Farhan,

It's barely 7 business days since your brother applied. Hope you're not expecting a decision that's faster than the average normal processing times.

Apart from the holidays for Remembrance Day and Diwali, CIC does not work on weekends

Cheers :)
