:o wow.

Are you a citizen of the uk? I think otherwise they will state that you do not qualify to appli at that visa office and return the application to you ??? .

no, I am a Pakistani national working in Canada. London visa office deals with applications from Pakistani nationals and that is why i used the London visa office checklist. The thing is that i am eligible to use Buffalo as my visa processing center, as i have been here in Canada for more than 18 months now.

I am a Pakistani citizen currently working in Toronto. I applied for permanent residency under FSW cat.2 this year in January. Yesterday, I received an email from CIO saying that my application has received a positive final determination and that it will be forwarded to London visa office for further processing and that I should contact them in case there are any changes in my application.

Now the thing is that as I have been living in Canada for more than 18 months now, and I choose buffalo as my preferred visa office. I am not sure why they sent my application to London visa office.

Can it be because London visa office deals with Pakistani applicants? Or the fact that I, by mistake, attached the London visa office checklist with my visa office specific documents? I did that because I dint realize it matters as the checklists were similar, except London checklist had listed more documents.

Also, does it matter which visa office the application goes to if my interview gets waived??

Really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond to this.

Thanks.

1. They directed your case file to London obviously for your error in placing the CHC-Lon Checklist.

2. It doesn't matter where the file goes, even for an interview situation... 'coz, u can always ask them to reschedule your interview@another place.

3. But, Buffalo would have been better for u, 'coz of its proximity to Canada, besides, it's a bit faster than the London handling of Isb overload.

4. Moreover, sending your pps to London would take longer than Buffalo... it's not a deal-breaker though.

Do you mean 2nd AOR? What kind of email and who send you the email CIC or VO? Please enlighten us.

Thank You.

cforcanada,

I think he means CIO sent his application to Buffalo. So he just completed his CIO ER. Anyone has a different status than CIO ER complete?

the beast is right; initially they were sending it to LONDON so i sent them an inquiry that i choose buffalo as my visa office. Today they emailed me to ignore the previous email and that my application is being sent to buffalo.

Hello All,
My application was received by CIO on Dec 8th 2010, and I am still waiting for my first AOR. Any idea as to when can I expect first contact? I have applied under permanent employment category, and I am currently working in Canada on a 3 years work permit. Is there any way for me to track my application without file number or AOR?

Please suggest,
Thanks

You can check with the help of your Client ID on your Work Permit. On the CIC check status page, filter on Client ID to enter your number.

Hello,
Thanks for suggesting to use Client ID to check the status... I did check my application status on CIC website using the Client ID. And for me it shows: "Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) Eligibility Review Complete". It also states that they have sent me a letter on March 03, 2011 and to please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting them.

It been almost three weeks and I have not received any mail or email from them. I did also contact the call centre to inquire about this status, and the agent told me that there was not letter sent and the online status can just be internal communication. The agent also informed that it shall take around 8 months before I shall get any communication.

Does any one know what does it mean when the online status says ""Centralized Intake Office Sydney (CIO-S) Eligibility Review Complete”? Also is there any way to find out what was the letter sent to me, if there was any, in case I have still not received it??

Thanks.

Which means your are through with the first stage - the CIO eligibility review. You should have got an email with a File # ( if you mentioned one in your application - check your Junk mailbox). How ever there is nothing to be worried about.. as your file would have been in transit to your Visa office , which in this case is Buffalo I guess.

Does anyone know how much time it takes for the status to change from CIO Eligibility review complete to recieved by visa office?

Mine just changed to Received by VO last Saturday 3/26. rest of my timeline is on the left.

Thanks.. so i believe sometime around 50 days.

Good luck!
