Hello... My application was received in Mississauga on August 19 2013, I was approved to sponsor September 9th and was informed my application has been sent to Manila at that time... Anyone else in this time frame? I only looking to compare wait times with someone...

Hello Denny303, just joined the forums. My timeline so far. Application received CPC Mississauga: August 26, 2013. Right to Sponsor: Approved September 13. Forwarded to Manila Embassy.Still waiting for update on CIC website. Status has been stuck at Application received since September.

hello..

My wife's application for sponsorship received last dec. 2011..and i received a 1st medical request last aug.2012 and it got expired last sept 2013 so embassy requested again for another medical exam and done it last JAN. 08 2014...i dunno why do i have to two medical exam.. both of my medical exam are passed..and before i took the 2nd medical exam they requested a NBI clearance (visa canada) which they didnt ask for it on my 1st medical exam..i took my medical exam in St.Lukes (Bocobo St. Manila)

My current application is "in Process" and I understand that the average processing time is indicated in the website depending on the visa office. I know that the processing time is 14 months in our case. My question is the reckoning date for the 14 months. Is it from the time when the CIC says it received the application (which is Nov 2012), or the time the Manila visa office receives the application from CIC Mississauga (which is March 2013)?

Also, if the reckoning date is Nov. 2012, do we add the 28 days sponsorship approval for myself to the 14 months (i.e. 28 days + 14 months), or is this included in the 14 months?

you should received an email that they have received your docs. and thats the start of the "14 months" period within that 14 month period they will ask for nbi clearance (visa canada) after background check..next is medical exam...some cases are...they received it within 8 months but some took long...but if it exceeded within 14 month period you have to call the embassy right away to update them...still it depends on the visa officer who handles the case...

Yes I we received medical request and passport request beginning of December 2013. Also cic requested 2 police clearances from countries she had worked in the past... All have been completed by us... Now the waiting game continues...
My wife was directly affected by typhoon yolanda so cic tells me they have prioritized our application.... We shall see......
