Timeline: passport application outside Canada

It seems so many people apply for passport outside Canada. As there is no existing thread of timelines. Can we share our timelines and office/countries processing the passport.


Applied for mine on March 13th, from the UK.

A friend applied two weeks ago, reviewed his passport today. Took approximately 13 days.

My timeline won't be accurate as I applied last year when there was the whole passport fiasco and mine took 9.5 weeks. So I'm guessing things have sped up considerably since then.

Professional training. Will return to Canada once I am done.

So from what I understand, after passing through all these steps, I can apply to get a passport from a random country Canada embassy? And get it in 1-2 weeks time?

Yes you can apply outside Canada with your Citizenship certificate. Service standard is 20 working days, similar to mail in application inside Canada.

Hello,

I applied on 31st July from India. Then on 16th August I got call to pick passport from consulate. Due to some issues I could not able to pick passport. I requested for mail then and on August 30 I received passport by mail. Old style passport.
