Hi,

I'm new here. Just wanted to find out the timelines of those who took the citizenship test on October, 2012 at the St. Claire citizenship office.

Here's mine and still waiting :(

|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on September 2, 2011.

We sent you a letter acknowledging receipt of your application(s), and a study book called Discover Canada on September 2, 2011.
Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

We started processing your application on April 26, 2012.

We sent you a notice on September 18, 2012 to appear and write the citizenship test on October 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
The notice you will receive by mail will be your official confirmation of your appointment.
If you have not received this notice prior to the date of your scheduled appointment, please contact us.

My wife and I took the exam on October 2, 2012, but haven't seen new updates to my case since...
I plan to call CIC tomorrow, October 2, 2013, as this would be the 25th month of waiting...

Thanks!

Hi,

I called up CIC this morning and found that I have passed the test. My wife also called up CIC and found that she has failed the test. She is scheduled to do a re-test on October 23. This afternoon, we received a letter from CIC confirming that my wife has indeed failed the test. Today is exactly the 25th month of waiting since our application for grant of citizenship has been received by CIC.

CIC agent informed my wife that since ours was a joint application, I have to wait for her to pass before being scheduled for an oath-taking. My wife was also informed that even if she passes the test on October 23 (which she would know right after the test), there is no assurance of an immediate schedule for oath-taking because the published waiting time for non-routine applications is 35 months -- this means, I could be waiting for 10 more months after October 23...

This is a let-down for me of sorts because I am currently unemployed and unable to find a job here in Canada. A lot of jobs, however, are available in the US in my field but I need a TN visa to be able to work there. Since I can't take my oath yet, I also can't have my TN visa.

I will update this post again on October 23, 2013 after my wife's re-test.

Thanks,
