Timeline for Study Permit applicant from KSA/ Saudi Arabia

I've not seen many people post here from KSA so I thought i'd make this thread highlighting my timeline for those who are applying now or in the future.

I applied for M.Eng in Civil Engineering at UBC

Submitted my Application on 4th April through VFS Jeddah, Biometrics on the same day, no upfront medical;
Linked application to GCKey on 10th April, it showed Background processing at the time.

I received no correspondence letter afterwards for biometrics, until 11th june.
Received final approval on 12th june.

The application time for KSA was 6 weeks throughout April-June as I checked weekly, however my application took about 9-10 weeks to process. I did inquire about this delay and was told that I applied too early as my school starts in Sept. They gave priority to those who has their school starting in Summer i.e May-June.
Hope this helps any future applicants from KSA, don't panic, you'll most likely get yours in time. I am happy to answer any questions about the application.

Good to hear.I submitted my application on the 1st of May and I haven’t seen any feedback until today.A message was sent to from VAC to submit additional documents but was directed to call A VAC helpline for further information as the documents were not mentioned in the message received.Am guessing it could be medical becos that’s the only document I didn’t submit.Do you have any ideal what the additional documents could be and should I be worried?I already called VAC Jeddah and they don’t have the full information too.

Have you linked your application to your account on GCKey? They must've sent you a message there as well for additional documents. You're right, it could be medical. Nothing to worry about!

Applied UBC Vancouver campus B.Eng on April 6th online.
Biometric on April 7th VFS Jeddah and got Biometric on April 8th.
Waiting since then no update, sent a reminder and they replied since education program starts in Aug, it will be processed later

Yes pretty much exactly the same story, even the same university haha. I applied a bit earlier than you so I am thinking they'll be getting to your app soon

The online application goes to Canada first and then it gets transferred to Riyadh office for processing...

My masters program starts in January and I am waiting for my sponsorship letter for funding to start the appplication.
Would it be too late to apply at the beginning of November?
The delay is beyond my control.
