for everyone:
I got refered by someone that you are very knowledgeable with Immigration issues. I need your advice.
I am currently employed as NOC code 2132( highly skilled), but I am working on a open post grad work permit. I was recently able to get my vise a visitor visas; she is coming here next week.
Now can she apply for an open work permit based on my current ssituation at port of entry? She can prove them that I have a skilled job by showing my company letter that I wrote to CIC for issuing her the visas. I can also show them my PNP certificate which clearly states that I am a mechanical engineer- NOC 2132.
Based on current situation I need your advice. It would be helpful if you can reply to this answer quickly cz she would be flying in a week now and I am still getting all the mixed answers.

Regards,
SAM

You guys applied in Buffalo.
Can you apply for Buffalo if living in Canada?

Immigrations are handled on "neutral land" i.e. US. Besides, in PNP category, the choice of Buffalo is made by the province itself (whoever issued your PNP certificate).

As far I've seen in Ontario, people from different categories (PNP/ CEC/ FSW) apply for PR to Buffalo.

7 WEEKS HAS PASSED. DRAFT STILL NOT YET CASHED OUT :'(

Thanks Rossie.
I am yet to apply for Provincial nominee.

But I hope there is no requirement of applying from home country becoz my home country has about 2 years long waiting time

:D
Draft cashed out June 14 2011, 7 weeks after receipt date.

I am so happy, my application file is now created in Buffalo database and is moving on.

Anyone sending application during this time should expect draft cashed in 7-8 weeks if nothing missing or filled wrong.

With Canada Post completely shuts down starting today it would be a nightmare to have application returned.

NOC = National Occupational Classification
FYI: http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/OccupationIndex.aspx

You don't require it since you applied in MS Grad Stream. NOC code, classified by HRSDC, refers to the job you are doing/ the employment that made you nominated.

My application was received by Buffalo office on March 18, 2011. I just checked my online status today on September14,2011. It showed that my application was received on March 18,2011 but I haven't received any AOR Email stating anything. Can somebody tell me when will I get it...
Thanks

some visa officers do not send AOR via email while others do. applications managed under the GCMS system will automatically be triggered for email communications when the file is open. I think some other applications are still managed by CAIPS which is less efficient in communication.

But as long as you can see it on ecas it's good :)

Can you please tell us how did u check your status without having file no. (AOR)?

Hello all: I received an email from Buffalo on Nov 8 that my application was received on Apr 17 2011. They have given me a file number, and I am able to look up my status on e-cas as "Application received." Do you know how long it takes to receive the request for medical exam? Has been close to two weeks since the email. I applied as a BC-PNP nominated applicant.
