Timeline for FSW3

I have read somewhere that there is a different timeline in Buffalo for applications sent by those who are currently in Canada working as foreign workers or international students. Is anyone here or has anyone here been through this process, where they were a foreign worker or international student... if so, how long did it take for you to receive word from Buffalo after you sent your documents in. Do you know if they have rejected any applications from foreign workers? I have lived in Canada almost 6 yrs going on 7... This is like my home now... don't wanna leave.

Oh also... my current work permit expires Jan 13, 2011, should I ask my employer to extend my work permit, or should I change to a visitor status... what should I do... if Buffalo takes forever to process the application??? Please help

In canada wp extension should be done within 3 months for same employer so you can wait until september for your PR application status before applying extension.

Your LMO has expiry date and length of employment on it. If you apply within that date of expiry and end of length of employment period it should be fine.

my LMO has expired last year, work permit valid till Jan 13, 2011

Then first apply for new LMO for which they want your application before 3 months to have ample processing time. After getting LMO you can apply extension of work permit. So as per me you should start processing for LMO by end of June.

So I have to continue to work at my present job until a decision is made and i've received my PR card... what about going on visit status (lol I really don't want to work at this job anymore but its not that easy to switch jobs as a foreign worker, i'm just hoping my papers will come through soon)
