Hi! question lang po. we received our passports with visa. i actually sent my old passport which expires this june. i just renewed my passport last october and im about to pick up the new one this week. do i need po to send my new passport sa canadian embassy or at least inform them? or enough na yung visa sa old passport, no need for visa on the new passport?

Hi Bella, I think you can still use the visa on your old passport, just bring both passports together. Pero just to be sure, inform the embassy and ask them if you still need the visas on your new passport.

Ask ko lang po pag MR stage na..yung friend ko po nagka primary complex yung anak nya..gusto sna nila mkaalis kagad pa-canada in case na magkavisa na sila..need po bang ideclare yun sa medical or kahit hindi na..kasi po pag dineclare pa nila baka need po kumpletuhin medication bgo mkaalis

No need - visa is still valid on expired passport. Personally I have done that - have a valid visa on an expired passport. Both passports need to be presented to the CBSA officer at the PoE. Also from from: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/enf/enf04-eng.pdf

13.15. Valid visas in expired passports
If an expired passport contains a valid visa counterfoil, the counterfoil can still be used since the expiration of the passport has no effect on the visa's validity. Holders of a valid visa may continue to use their visa until the date it expires even if the visa is in an expired passport. Visitors can fulfill the visa and passport requirements by presenting both the renewed and expired passports containing the valid visa counterfoil to a BSO when seeking entry into Canada. The Regulations state that visas should not be issued longer than the validity of the passport. However, due to pre-IRPA cases, it is possible to encounter visas in expired passports.

I received my uci num after 65 days... Yours will take longer bec of holiday season. Try to check mpnp 2013 cic spreadsheet so that u would know some waited for 3months or 90+ days to get updates...
