Timeline difference between Student Visa and Visitor Visa???

Hey Guys I have applied for student Visa at CHC Chandigarh on 25-07-2011... The same day my sister applied for Tourist Visa at CHC chandigarh.. its been 10 days (7 working days).. Is there any timeline difference in processing for student visa and visitor visa at the same CHC... or student visa takes more processing time than visitor visa...

Our status on VFS site is same...
application received on 26-07-2011 and is under processing..

Tourist visas are generally processed at a faster rate than study permit application but won't be much of a difference if the applications have no problem (TVR takes around 3 to 10 working days while study permit takes around 10 working days, more or less for medical call/decision to arrive).
