Timeframe after medicals and RPRF submitted

Hi All,

How long does it take after submitting the medicals to hear from them again? Below is a summary of my case:

Application submitted to buffalo on November, 2007
Letter (with file number created) received on January 03, 2008.
Letter requesting IELTS exam to be taken received on January 04, 2008.
IELTS results submitted on March 2008.
Letter requesting: Medicals exams, updated letter of current employment and Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF) received on June 11, 2008.
Updated letter of employment and RPRF submitted on June 19, 2008.
Medicals results submitted on July 7, 2008.
Still waiting response from Buffalo. My status on-line haven't changed to medicals results received.

Since 2 months has passed, I sent an e-mail to Buffalo and got a reply saying the following:

” We have requested background information from other government offices(s). Unfortunately, we cannot provide a date when the processing of your application will be complete”.

Can someone tell me what does that mean?
How long does it take after submitting the medicals to hear from them again?

Well your case is at the finishing ends. Be patient, there is no set time frame of these activities.Different locations (CIC offices) have different time periods to deal with cases.
Now it should'nt take longer. good luck

Hey Felipao,

Did you get your PR?
I did my medicals in august 2008 and sent FBI and all documents in last week of September 2008. My status is changed to medicals received..
but its been 2 months no news..

Thank you for asking. Unfortunately, I haven’t' received any news from CIC in Buffalo. My status on-line hasn't changed either. It's still saying “In process". As you can imagine, I'm getting a little anxious at this point.

I'm happy to hear that your case is moving forward from "In progress" to "medical results received" that's good news!!! It's seems like you are almost there! Congrats!
Where did you apply? Which CIC is dealing with your case?

Did you click on the status link "In progress"? Even my status says "In progress" but if I click on it then on the next page it says:
We started processing your application on June 12, 2007.
Medical results have been received.
So please look there I am sure you will some good news
I applied in Buffalo office.

I always click on "In progress" but unfortunately it doesn't say anything about medical results received.

that status thing works only in few countries! alot of people have their status "in progress" even after they landed!
