Hello,
I wanted to ask if anyone knows how valuable certificates criminal once obtained from the court of residence.
For example I've done certificates in May and I will send away papers in mid-October, will still be valid or will I ask for others.
Thanks, as always, for any response.

You'll be asking for source anyway 8) Here you go. Quote and source.

The certificate must have been issued no more than three (3) months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator.

Even 1 year is good, I read it somewhere, ...just for you to know, mine was more than a year old and was accepted. So before going for another one, first send it to CIC, let them request another one,if they are not satisfied.
Thanks.

Yes, well you applied back in 2012, right? CIC changed the rules for CEC and updated the document checklist and instruction
guide multiple times.
The instruction guide for 2013 says, not older than 3 months by the time you submit your application,
so I recommend keeping that in mind.

This what is said in the CEC Document Check List:" Note: Police Certificates are generally considered to be valid for one year from the date of issue; therefore depending on the processing time of your application, you may be requested to submit new certificates.

Indeed, but if you read the instruction guide it says the following:

The certificate must have been issued no more than three (3) months prior to submitting your application. If the original certificate is not in English or French, then you will need to submit both the certificate and the original copy of the translation prepared by an accredited translator.
And in that case, just to be safe, I would go with the 3 months mentioned in the instruction guide.

The checklist info. for PCC has not changed since I applied.Anyway , It doesnt matter to me, it was just my suggestion instead of wasting time/money...They will never reject any application if PCC is expired, they'll just ask for new one..
Anyways..
Thanks.

They won't reject because PCC is optional when you submit your initial application package.
