time lines for LIC PR Single vs Married applicants

It would appear that Single applicants for PR are given preference over Married applicants which is a Canadian human rights issue that requires martial status not to be considered when processing applications. Please chime in with your situations and how things have gone for you. I have personal knowledge of single applicants being processed at least 7 months ahead of married. Lets get concise information from all applicants to see if there are any abuses of Married applicants.

Hi, I think you are right. married applicants are processed longer than single applicants. maybe this is because of timing of application and married applicants have their families being screened in their home country unlike for single pr applicants, they have undergone screening prior to coming in canada. so the only thing that cic is verifying is whether they have successfully completed the 24months or 3900hrs lic work and criminal record/s...so i expect they get their pr fastly. i'm a married pr applicant under lcp and would wish that even for married applicants, the processing time would be shorten. but i think this all depends on the number of applicants the cic is currently processing and where our dependants are comig from...what's your situation?c",)

actually, I'm a Canadian Citizen born here over 70 years ago and have served in The Canadian military. The reason for the post is that I don't like the way Lic are being treated. It should make no difference if you have a spouse or not to get your PR. Give the earned PR to the applicant, and then process the Spouse afterwords. I employed a caregiver who has gone on the greater things. I tear up (cry) reading about the hardships among the caregivers. At this point my former caregiver ( the correct term should be professional caregiver) has been apart from her educated husband for over four year. Before I can point out the injustice to my MP I need to gather some examples and a bit of background. please all...join in and let us know how this affects you. I hope you don't mind that I butt in on your forum, but a lot of Canadians care... call yourself "professional caregivers" because that is what you are. OK to pray, but demand what is rightly yours.

Except CIC has to determine the admissibility of the dependents overseas as well, which takes time.

Thanks, this means a lot...I too am married but we had our application last year so I'm not really in the position to complain if ours is being pushed back by single applicants... but it's true, i've read a lot of threads here and i've come to realize that single applicants get processed faster...
