I had a strange feeling when I woke up today and I found the reason for it:

IRCC sent me classic medical request letter.

Some detail about my PR application:
- Application Date: December 2018
- Estimated time of completion has ended on August 2020
- Background and security check has finished
- My old medical was 2 years 6 months old
- IRCC had already extended my medical at least once (that I know of)
- My last GCSM note said PP - Ready for Landing

My assumption:
Unfortunately the officer required to ask medical exam. Because extension of medical exam is only applicable if medical exam is not older than 15 months. Since my medical exam in file is 30 months old there was no other option.

Any ideas and wild assumptions regarding the completion date of my PR application is welcome :p

(Yes they have started to process December 2018 applications)

Havnt there been people on this forum whose medicals have been extended twice? (Meaning at more than 24 months)

I am applicant March 2019. My medical has been done only once as of yet (when I was claiming for refugee protection - early 2018).
Since submission of my PR application in March, I have not been asked to do medical again. Not yet I would say...

Great news that they are working on December 2018 applications. What is your province please?
Thanks

I think only people who had new medical at the time of PR application will be extended. Medical of Refugee application is too old and has to make a new one sometime during the PR application.

I have been reading this forum regularly but first time writing. Thanking you all for revealing many useful info. Congrats for all who got COPR. I am legacy claim-backlog applicant. Timeline May 1st 2019. Yet no medical request letter. Reminded IRCC by webform in July 2020. A friend of mine October 10, 2018 applicant whose medical done May 2019 passed medical exam August 21,2020. Eligibility passed on August 30,2020 and a letter attached to this instructed him to send IRCC application forms for spouse who is not here to Colombo visa office. Today SEP 1 st he received approval letter which says processing of application completed. IRCC Etobicoke will contact to arrange an appt for finalization of PR application and to present original ID documents.
Is this PR interview?

I am May 2019 applicant still no medical request but my friend who is not in this forum is OCT 10,2018 is going to face PR interview.
I think every case is different! We can have a general idea of how things are moving forward, but the probability of having similar steps is very low. I am a July 2019 applicant, I received a request to submit fingerprints on August 5th, did fingerprint on August 10th, my medical results were updated on August 12!

I think it’s the past thing they need to give you PR. Do it quick and hopefully all will be complete in few weeks.
